The telephone being used for its original purpose, to attempt communication with the dearly departed. 🖤

I’ve never seen one of these before. A wind phone. Si King shared it on Instagram the other day.

I think it might be a Japanese idea originally where there’s a disconnected phone in a garden.

People go there to talk to the people they’ve lost. Not because anyone answers or because it “fixes” grief.

Just because sometimes love needs somewhere to go. I think that’s beautiful.

We spend so much time pretending we’re fine, moving on, staying busy, “being strong”

Meanwhile, a little old rotary phone in the wind is quietly reminding people that missing someone is normal. That continuing the conversation is normal.

Madame Sceptre’s macabre show of magic and mystery will bring a shiver to your spine and a frisson of the absurd.. Madame Sceptre immerses audiences in the world of Victorian occultism and witchcraft. Expect magic, mirth and hauntology.

The show is devised and performed by Careena Fenton. Careena is researching towards a doctorate in Victorian Spiritualism, Witchcraft and Performance Magic. She has been a performer for many years and is a member of The Magic Circle.

Running time approximately 55 minutes

Thoroughly enjoying digging into the research for my residence in November for a season of Victorian Seance! This is going to be the most accurate Victorian Seance ever to be experienced and imh is not to be missed. So exciting digging into the darker corners of Malvern’s history and using my original research into true seance. The last few tickets are remaining and it won’t be long until it’s completely sold out. If you’ve ever wanted to experience a proper seance in the dark,now is the time.

Yesterday was one of those incredible pinch me moments! When I began this magical Victorian Spiritualist journey back in 2018 I scarcely could have imagined I’d be on a journey to Oxford University! Yesterday I performed my solo magical show, Phantasmagorical which is a seance theatre show of Victorian spiritualism and thought reading for the British Association of Victorian Studies 25th celebration Anniversary! It was an incredible opportunity for which I’m extremely grateful for and I’m so pleased to say the show went extremely well! while I’m a long way till I’m loving this amazing journey that magic plus academia is taking me on!
