Established in 1975.

📌Plumstead Common, Saturday 6th June 2026 , 12-6pm The Plumstead Make Merry is the longest-running community festival in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Each year, around 10,000 people come along to enjoy a packed day of music, arts and activities that celebrate the history of the area and its diverse community. Join us at The Bandstand, the main performance area, for music

and dance performances, or sit down and relax in the Acoustic Cafe, enjoying some tea and cake while listening to our acoustic and spoken word acts. With around 90 different stalls from local groups and businesses, there is plenty on offer including food and activities for all the family. Contact us on [email protected]

Plumstead Make Merry is Greenwich borough’s longest running community festival. The event is organised and run by volunteers. 🌧️🏕️ A huge thank you to the Royal Borough of Greenwich Shooters Hill Ward for sponsoring the ever-popular Picnic Tent at Plumstead Make Merry!

This year, the tent was especially appreciated as visitors sought shelter from the rain while enjoying the festivities. It provided a welcoming space to relax, connect with friends and neighbours, and make the most of the day despite the weather.

The talent, energy and stage presence were off the charts, both onstage and behind the scenes.

Both bands are heading into the Battle of the Bands on 14 July... and to the other entrants, consider this your warning: 👀

✨ **Best Dressed Stall at Plumstead Make Merry!** ✨

Congratulations to **Tina’s Magnifi-scents**, winners of the **Best Dressed Stall** award, chosen by the Mayor at this year’s Plumstead Make Merry. 🏆🌸

The Mayor was impressed by the fantastic presentation and attention to detail that made the stall stand out from the crowd.

Plumstead born and bred, Tina, her daughter and granddaughters attend the event every year, continuing a long-standing family connection with the community. Tina’s daughters even took part in the parade when they were children.

A well-deserved award for a beautiful stall and all the hard work that went into creating it. 👏❤️

Recently unearthed footage from Plumstead Make Merry, 1926.

Captured during celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Plumstead Common Riots of 1876. The film has been carefully restored, although it’s remarkable how many of the faces seem oddly familiar...

We were thrilled to witness the inaugural performance by the Riot Community Musical Project yesterday telling the story of the people who fought to save Plumstead Common 150 years ago, in song.
