Anna Kiss is known to London’s scene having started out on pirates Life & Freeze FM in 1999. Her sounds regularly graced London’s airwaves for the next 10 years, including on leading stations Passion & Flex, while also recording her weekly Lip Locked syndicated radio show which played on leading internet stations such as DI.FM and many local FM stations worldwide. The highlight of her radio experi

ence was holding a long running weekly specialist show on British Forces worldwide station BFBS. Always more than a radio DJ, from 2001-2005 Anna Kiss was a Summer resident DJ in Ayia Napa at Gas Club, Abyss & Castle clubs. She also regularly travelled the world DJing and has so far headlined 22 countries, including USA, Pakistan & China. Releasing her first tracks in 2005 Anna has charted and had BBC Radio 1 support over the years. As I prepare for my set in Camden this Saturday, I find myself reminiscing over my FIRST EVER London gig - which was in Camden. Circa Y2K, and it was also the first & last time I took public transport to a gig 🤣
Getting 80 records in a flight case from Kings Cross station to the venue, was exhausting. We took it in turns to carry the thing, it was a hot summer's day, I feel so bad for the boys, they just wanted a beer, so they powered on through til we got there.
The venue was a wonderful pub that had candles absolutely everywhere (probably wouldn't be allowed to do that these days), I don't recall the name, perhaps someone out there will recognise it!
That's not a smoke machine, and we didn't have digital camera's back then so this is the only pic 😂
26 years go, how this DJ lark has changed.. when this pic was taken, UDG record bags/trolley's didnt exist, CDJs didn't exist, smartphones didnt exist, social media didn't exist... and I didn't even start waving my arms around during a DJ set until I played in China in Y2K+5!

Always more than a radio DJ, from 2001-2005 Anna Kiss was a resident DJ in Ayia Napa, Cyprus at Gas Club, Abyss & Castle clubs. She also regularly travelled the world DJing and has so far headlined 22 countries, including USA, Pakistan & China. Releasing her first tracks in 2005 Anna has charted and had BBC Radio 1 support over the years. She is soon to be back releasing tracks again having fine tuned her sound.
