Precision, patience… and a LOT of cutting ✂️😅
This reel shows me hand tracing and cutting Lycra appliqués for a set of gymnastics leotards for 🤸♀️
Because these appliqués are stretch fabric, they can’t just be cut roughly and thrown on. Every shape has to be precisely traced, cut, placed and sewn carefully so nothing shifts or stretches away from the base fabric
Safe to say… after finishing this set I decided there had to be a better way 😅 So I digitised the shapes and started cutting them on my Cricut instead, which is SO much quicker and even more precise 🙌
Sometimes the best systems come from thinking “never again” halfway through a project 😂
