Our second Associate Artist is Martyn Sanderson, who joins us on tenor and alto sackbuts. Martyn studied at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and enjoys a busy career on modern and historical instruments. He has been a supportive and flexible colleague of the group for many years and we are delighted to recognise his professionalism and musicianship in this way. Welcome, Martyn!

His Majestys Sagbutts and Cornetts are delighted to announce the appointment of James Wigfull to the position of Bass Sackbut with the group. James joins us following studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Utrecht Conservatory and has worked with many leading period instrument ensembles in Europe and beyond.

The recruitment process was highly competitive, with six outstanding candidates all of whom we have enjoyed getting to know better this summer. We wish them all the very best and would like to thank them for bringing such professionalism and musicianship to all our interactions.
