Blütenschale (Blossom Peel), 2025 by Pia Krajewski Pia Krajewski is a work composed of three hanging silk scrolls painted with mineral pigments. Drawing from her archive of everyday photographs, Pia Krajewski creates forms that hover between the organic and the imagined, evoking petals, textures, or architectural fragments without settling into a fixed identity. The use of silk and mineral pigments introduces a different material quality to the work, as the absorbent surface requires a precise application of pigment and emphasises the translucency of the support.

“Every individual organism is merely a bud that has sprouted from the combined body of its two parents.” — Henri Bergson

Drawing on this premise, the work by Manuele Cerutti conceives the individual as an extension of a continuous, generational body rather than an autonomous form. Intertwined figures articulate a condition of forced cohesion, where identity emerges through inheritance, friction, and dependency. Suspended between past and future, the composition evokes the tension between what is desired and what is inevitably carried forward, situating existence within a flow that cannot be interrupted.

This large-scale quadriptych by Paul Kneale transforms abstraction into a charged atmospheric landscape shaped by the emotional residue of global conflict. Spanning nearly twenty feet, the work unfolds across four panels as a sequence of intensities — moving from gathering tension to explosive release, then collapse and ruin — without ever depicting figures or specific events.

Michael Armitage is currently on view at Palazzo Grassi with a major solo exhibition ‘The Promise of Change’, curated by Jean-Marie Gallais and presented by the Pinault Collection.

Spanning paintings and studies from recent years, the exhibition unfolds as a powerful and layered journey through themes of violence, migration, and political instability — where reality and personal vision intertwine through Armitage’s deeply distinctive visual language.

We have collaborated with Michael Armitage on several projects and exhibitions over the last 10 years, and it is a pleasure to now see his work presented in this major institutional context at Palazzo Grassi in Venice!

‘The Portraitist’ (2023) by David Patrick Walsh is now part of the inaugural group exhibition ‘Don’t Have Hope, Be Hope’ at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo , which opened on 7 May, in their new venue on the Island of San Giacomo in Venice. It’s a special moment to see the work installed there, and to be part of this new chapter for the foundation in such a unique setting.

In ‘The New Lies’, Marcus Cope .cope reflects on familial dynamics through a composition that recalls the logic of collage. The canvas unfolds into fragmented timelines, where background and foreground dissolve into one another. The figures emerge in quiet opposition: a child drifts before the radiance of a cartoon-like sun, while an elderly man withdraws into shadow, his presence marked only by the faint glow of a cigarette ember.

‘The New Lies’ is currently on view in the group exhibition ‘Sea, Pop & Sun’ at Fondation Carmignac ().
