Thank you SO much to everyone who came to the Arthouse Cinema, Crouch End on Sunday evening to watch our first full rehearsed reading of ‘7 Years, 7 Messages’! 🎉

Showing a work in progress piece to a room full of supportive and open people is one of the most useful things to do in the creative process. We loved hearing all your thoughts and seeing all of your reactions to the piece.

Excited to see that the work connected, resonated and made people feel something at this early stage, even without a set, staging, costume, lighting or a director.

We guess it’s time to figure out ‘the next bit’ đŸ˜„đŸ„ł

This is the first outing of the full play, having done the first 15 minutes of it at a work in progress showing earlier this year. Please come and support and give us your thoughts and feedback on the piece - we'd love to know what you think!

Meet our cast:

Joey Hickman, our leading man, has just finished a tour of ‘Brassed Off’. playing the role of Phil. Kat Kleve, our other lead, has just finished a run at The Other Palace of ‘TINK’ – a one woman-show which she co-created. Jan Goodman was last seen playing Mrs Thatcher in ‘Handbagged’ by Moira Buffini. And Yvonne Riley has recently worked on a piece of verbatim theatre about food poverty called ‘Full’.

Join us in a couple of weeks on Sunday 17th November at the Art House in Crouch End where we’ll be doing a rehearsed reading of a new short play we’re developing! đŸ„ł

☎ The play’s a love story that plays out over 7 years, via 7 answer machine messages. Because that’s how tech and romance intersected back in the day. 🧡

We’ve written it, we’ve performed the first 15 minutes at a scratch night and we now want to find out how the entire piece works in front of an audience. And that’s where you come in!

Tickets are free but we’d advise booking via the Art House website:

So here’s the thing.

As a way of working, for most of the people, most of the time, theatre doesn’t work.

We’re trying to find a different path.

Our aim is to produce new work. And to find new ways to work. Sometimes what we do will look like what theatre is supposed to look like. Sometimes it won’t.

We’re not rejecting what exists, just reacting to the constant rejection from what does exist. We believe if, a lot of the time, you’re locked out of the playground, why not build your own one?

We’re the wrong side of the gatekeepers. We’re outside the algorithms. And we’re bored of waiting.

So we’ll create multiple touch points for our products, our purpose, and our people. If this doesn’t sound very theatrical, we know a very clever man who once said, ‘All the world’s a stage.’

Well, maybe he was overstating things there. (He did do that, occasionally). All the world’s not a stage, but a lot of it can be. When you recognise that, then possibilities turn up, nick a chip off your plate, and ask ‘why not try this?’

And we want to have fun. Because, and we’ve looked into this, having fun is way better than not having fun.

We’re Random Acts Of Theatre.

We’re a collaboration between an actor and a writer. And we want to make things happen.

Follow us.

We don't know where we're going.
