Buried Thunder is looking for a co-writer to assist with the development of the written adaptation of our first devised show, Our Shoreā€¦

ā€œRocky cliffs sprouting green vegetation, violent waves crashing onto the pebbly beach underfoot, a lighthouse glowing in the distanceā€¦ Instead of being met by the people of this new land, Rkia is met by its weird and wonderful creatures, now lost to time. Breathing new life into Britainā€™s ancient folklore, Our Shore follows Rkia in her fast-paced adventure of discovery, adrenaline and coming-to-terms with life in a new home.ā€

This workshop is inspired by our devised show about British mythology. Participants watch a ten minute performance by two Buried Thunder practitioners before exploring our creative process themselves, learning how to build characters through physicality.

We provide the tools to create larger-than-life characters in their own work, discussing how this technique can be applied when devising both physical theatre and naturalistic performance.

The year is 2222. Death has gotten too powerful - he not only takes the necessary lives to retain the natural order of things, but has become too greedy and begun to take the lives of those who have not been born yet.

Our story starts with Cosima and Damien dancing with Death to lessen his grip over humanity.

But our story isnā€™t about Him. Itā€™s about exploring sisterhood, family relationships, power, trustā€¦

Through capoeira inspired movement and elements of clowning, our new twins take you on a visceral journey in this commission.
