We’re excited to be part of Ninety Percent of Everything, a new artistic residency taking place inside the Port of Genoa (Italy), at Palazzo Ducale, and aboard operational cargo ships.⁠
⁠
As NECESSITY.INK, we’ll lead the data art pathway of the programme, guiding selected collectives in transforming maritime data into sound and visual landscapes.⁠
⁠
Selected artists will work:
⁠
⚓ Inside port logistics infrastructures
🚢 Aboard cargo vessels (yes, you’ll actually sail)
🧑‍🔬 With marine scientists at CNR-IAS⁠l
📊 Collecting sonic and environmental data in real time⁠
⁠
The residency explores maritime logistics, the invisible system shaping global consumption, and its relationship to the climate crisis.⁠
⁠
Two collectives under 35 will be selected, working in:
⁠
• data art
• sound practices
• hybrid artistic practices⁠
⁠
The project will culminate in a multichannel installation in Genoa (Italy), later travelling to Cagliari (Italy), Marseille (France) and London (UK).⁠
⁠
