The Fall Of Man at RADA Festival 2014

The Fall Of Man at RADA Festival 2014 A short play by Jonathan Holloway and John Milton. Directed by Kirsten Hemingway-Arnold. Contains portrayals of sexual activity, strong language, nudity.

As with any sin, the people committing it think that somehow their outcome could be different. This short show explores the issues surrounding temptation. Stuck in a boring world of wealth he never really wanted, Peter falls in lust with his children’s young Polish nanny, Veronica. Fast forward from a first stolen kiss and lust has given way to lethargy and the banality of reality forces them both to take a look at their romance and their conflicting desires.

About the composer - Joe Mitchell

Joe began his career at the tender age of 15, when he was playing around the pubs and clubs of his native Scotland and the North of England In his early twenties Joe moved to London where he worked on various projects (film, TV, albums) playing all styles of music. After forming a band, Fivestones, with his song writing partner, they landed a recording contract in New York. He worked on promotions such as Budweiser and Disney. Now back in the UK Joe is working with Gerry And The Pacemakers (EMI Music Page), and writing and recording. He has had original music placed on TV overseas, and has just had a song picked up for a new British film. He has recently finished recording and writing some new material, and through contacts in the States and Europe, is pitching to publishers and major artists.

About the Director – Kirsten Hemingway

Kirsten trained at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) as a Stage Manager in 1989 – 1990. After graduating she worked as deputy stage manager with some of the best directors including Alby James of Temba Theatre Company and Jonathan Holloway at Red Shift. Kirsten was a popular DSM and learned her skills by watching the shows coming together in rehearsal and then managing rework on tour. She went to Questors Theatre in Ealing and began working with Directors there until she became proficient. Her first solo directing opportunity – Come back to the five and Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean went to Edinburgh Fringe and was an immediate hit. The audiences were enticed in (or scared in) by line dancing displays on the mound. Recently Kirsten has brought Fringe Theatre to Weston-super-mare. She is currently directing a number of short films and commercials.
