Hunter × Hunter is currently on hiatus, though Yoshihiro Togashi has continued sharing updates on his progress via X (formerly Twitter), keeping fans hopeful for the series’ return.
Today, we are introducing original Hunter × Hunter animation cels.
These are original, one-of-a-kind pieces that were actually used in the anime production process at the time.
While waiting for the series to return, it feels especially nostalgic to revisit hand-painted animation cels from the era before digital production became standard.

From Princess Mononoke and Porco Rosso to Kiki’s Delivery Service and Castle in the Sky, Studio Ghibli films continue to captivate audiences across generations.
These are original production cels actually used in the animation process.
Before digital animation became standard, every frame was created and painted by hand.
Each cel still carries the texture of the paint, the artist’s brushwork, and even the atmosphere of the original studio process.
More than simply animation memorabilia, they feel like fragments of the films themselves, frozen moments from the screen.

Two series. Two protagonists desperate to reclaim what they've lost.

In Fullmetal Alchemist, Edward and Alphonse Elric pay a devastating price for a forbidden ritual, and spend the series reckoning with that choice. Hiromu Arakawa builds a steampunk world steeped in moral complexity, asking readers and viewers alike how far they'd go for the people they love.

And then there's Detective Conan (名探偵コナン) — Shinichi Kudo, teen detective, now trapped in a child's body, dismantling criminal conspiracies one case at a time. Sherlock-sharp instincts, Bond-worthy gadgets, and a mystery decades in the making.

Both stories are ultimately about identity, sacrifice, and the long road back to yourself.
