How do you turn a novel into a play?

Join Papatango’s Executive Director Chris Foxon for a free workshop as he discusses adapting fiction for the stage. He'll be looking at how structure, form and audience translate from one medium to another.

Chris grew up in Newcastle and joined Papatango in 2012. He produces all of Papatango’s projects, winning several awards and transfers. He also wrote the bestselling play The Watch House, adapted from the novel by Robert Westall, and with George co-authored Being a Playwright, A Career Guide for Writers.

If your play is produced, how might local and national newspapers and websites cover it?

In this FREE online workshop, Daniel Rosenthal will explore how commissioning editors, journalists, publicists and theatre practitioners (especially actors, dramatists and directors), collaborate on editorial coverage.

A freelance theatre historian and journalist since 1996, now also a playwright, Daniel has contributed to the Times, Guardian and Daily Telegraph and has interviewed dozens of dramatists, including Moira Buffini, Michale Frayn, James Graham and Rebecca Lenkiewicz.

He lectured on film and theatre journalism for the International Programmes Department at Pembroke College, Cambridge, from 2010 to 2018.
