Winner of the 2021 Papatango New Writing Prize, selected from over 1,400 scripts, The Silence and The Noise was first produced by Papatango as an audio play under social distancing conditions, before Pentabus Theatre adapted it for film. Now, we're joining forces to bring Tom Powell’s extraordinary play to the stage for the very first time, directed by our AD George Turvey.

Congratulations to Hannah Doran for her nomination as Best Writer at The Stage Debut Awards! We are thrilled her 2024 Papatango Prize-winning play The Meat Kings! (Inc.) Of Brooklyn Heights - which we co-commissioned, developed and co-produced with Park Theatre - continues its phenomenal success, following the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and multiple other nominations. Well done Hannah!

Congratulations to the three winners of our 2026 Young Playwrights’ Award: Simra of Eden Girls’ School, Lorenzo of Harris Lowe Academy Willesden, and Maia of the Pavilion Study Centre Meadway.

We had a joyful day celebrating the talent and creativity of our 9 shortlisted writers with a showcase on the main stage at Park Theatre London. These pieces were selected from 482 scripts produced in state schools, Pupil Referral Units, SEN settings and specialist youth groups this year through our creative learning programme and the quality and range
of their scripts made for a truly dazzling event.

Huge thanks to Park Theatre for hosting, Nick Hern Books for providing prizes, and Josh Finan for hosting with such generosity and understanding of the significance of our work.
