Early December dump…just some of the photos from beautiful Cornwall at the start of the month. More of this stunning place coming soon - promise!

There was so much to find inspiration from, both the nature and time spent with wonderful humans I’m lucky to call friends 💕I’ve also never seen so many rainbows in a week as I did there - yes, that did mean there was a LOT of rain haha!

It was Indy’s first time experiencing the seaside too and she absolutely loved it! Such fun 🐶

PART 2: the fix!

As a professional artist sometimes I make a mistake that could be costly with either time or resources…I think it happens to the best of us, right?

After the ‘almost disaster’ I stayed calm and knew the only way to fix it was to cut away a slither of paper that was stained with the acrylic paint. Thank goodness I invest in good quality paper that has a decent surface ‘sizing’ otherwise the paint would have leached further into the layers of paper and been impossible to get off without ruining the paper surface. I digress.

Top tip: you MUST use a brand new scalpel to do this - sharpness means precision and less likely for the blade to slip along the surface of the paper, meaning less likely to cut yourself. Towards the end of the video you can see the blade was getting more blunt and needed to be switched out really.

I would always use a rounded blade like this for this kind of fix rather than one with a point as you are a lot less likely to leave line scores and obvious cuts and marks of the paper surface

Ultimately if I hadn’t have been happy with the fix or if I felt the paper didn’t look right I’d have started again. The most important thing is that the finished piece is a beautiful quality and to the standard expected by my clients. Luckily for me it worked!

Let me know if you have any questions or would like a short slowed down video that’s more of a tutorial.

PART 1: the moment I realised I made a giant c*c|< up and smudged the bottom of this painting I’m working on for my client.

I had just finished the base layer of paint and was about to start on the second piece in the diptych then: HORROR 😱

I’m sure I’m not the only artist to have done this! Come back tomorrow for PART 2 to see how I fixed it…

It’s so special to see my pieces in their forever homes, especially when the vision for the design is to ‘bring the outside in’.

Here is a rare canvas piece of mine ‘Time To Ponder’ in a beautiful suite in great company with other amazing art. This work is about those moments when you find stillness and get lost in your thoughts looking out through hazy veiled light. Close but distant at the same time, and you can’t quite make a clear picture, but instead enjoy the softness and take that time to ponder.

Thank you to for placing so much of my art in this stunning luxury boutique hotel in Somerset 🤎

IF YOU KNOW ME you know I just L❤️VE a checkerboard! Repeating patterns and the geometric nature of them is just 😍 I enjoy making the lines ‘flexible’ and bend the checker to reflect how things really change in life.

This is the smallest size I’ve made at 9.5 x 6.3cm and the largest is on a 150 x 100cm sheet of paper! I adore working with this nearly-but-not-quite-black indigo blue and the smooth paper really lets those carvings pop!

“MOON WALK” • 2023-2025
Moon gazing is one of my fave things you know, we’ve just had the Aries full moon and what a beaut she was! 😍 except that I couldn’t get a decent photo…I normally manage to! iPhone problems haha who’s with me?! 🌝🌚
I couldn’t resist giving the moon on this piece a soft pink glow and a deep earthy red sky, these combinations exist in my mind and I’m here for it.
I’ve been enjoying her in my living room but think it’s time she spread her wings to a new home!
She’s a little-un at 11 x 15cm, mixed media on paper with my signature carving on the moon, DM if you’d be keen to see her in your home and I’ll send the deets ❤️

“COME BACK AROUND” • 2023-2025
Delicious soft pinks and repetitive lines follow round this satisfying oval in an anti-clockwise fashion, as if turning back time.
This piece is straight from a thought that popped into my head that I had to immediately create, she started off as an all white carving in 2023, then this year I re-visited to adorn in these sumptuous pastels that I just can’t get enough of right now.
I think it’s acutely representative of my neurodivergent mind, I start in a place, go on a few tangents and then somehow eventually land back where I was again…rinse and repeat!
Original artwork one of a kind - 29.5 x 41cm. Unframed but also available framed.

The Glimmers of Hope Shine Through, 2025
Another piece in my latest blue collection, I have chosen a slightly different variation on the carving style for each of the pieces, with this one having subtle carvings into the painting adding to its life and movement.
As the summer draws to a close I will@continue swimming outdoors and getting the benefits of being in the water as it gets colder. I swap the endurance distances for a few lengths but gain just as much.
Are you planning to swim through the winter? If so come along to Parliament Hill Lido and join our wonderful winter community as we warm up in the sauna post swim. It’s pure magic 🪄

DEEP IN MY THOUGHTS, 2025 🪐
More time connecting the dots, meditating in the water and staring at the clouds in the sky. Gaining clarity that has escaped me.

Watching as they morph into different shapes as the seconds, minutes and hours tick by. Allowing myself to slow down. Be calm. Tune into myself

Being deep in thought, then taking my mind into the void of stillness that comes with the healing power of nature.
This piece incorporates subtle carvings on the white boarder whilst the deep blue painting takes you on a journey
