"When engaging with a new Shakespeare class or company, the first thing I hear from actors is that they find the works “long”, “complicated”, and that they are “afraid of doing it wrong”. I never hear: “This will be fun.” It’s alarming. If actors are terrified of Shakespeare, audiences don’t stand a chance of enjoying it. For all our sakes, we need to make Shakespeare fun."
