Join us at St John’s Hoxton for an evening dedicated to the South American guitar repertoire. Carmen will be performing a selection of masterworks that define Latin America’s rich musical heritage, from Antonio Lauro, Villa-Lobos and Barrios Mangoré, to lesser known composers and folk songs.

This is the official cover for Dedicatoria by Eleanor Kelly.

This album, and this cover, represent more than a year of work: drafts, research, bold artistic choices, and an immense amount of heart.

Thank you, Eleanor, for your trust and for the courage it took to bring this project to life.

A special thank you to Ignacio Lusardi Monteverde, who led the sound engineering and creative sound design with such care and vision.

And heartfelt thanks to Anna Tena, whose artistry guided the design process, resulting in a beautiful tribute to Carmen Guzmán. The cover centers on the two pillars of Guzmán’s life: her music and her homeland. From her portrait to the guitar strings at the base, every element reflects her pulse. The delicate florals nod to her lyrics and to her De Buenos Aires Morena album cover. The entire scene carries the blue and white of the Argentine flag, and the Sol de mayo (Sun of May).

Looking back to our studio sessions for the album Dedicatoria, which we recorded exactly during the centenary of the legendary Carmen Guzmán’s birth.

Every recording session is a world of its own, a rare blend of quiet calm and moments of high tension. This project was brought to life by guitarist Eleanor Kelly, a dedicated champion of music written by women. Guiding the session from behind the desk was sound engineer Ignacio Lusardi; as a fellow Argentinian, Ignacio brought an intuitive connection to Guzmán’s musical language.

It was a true honour to be part of this centenary tribute to the music of Carmen Guzmán. We can’t wait to share the final result with you all soon. 🎸✨
