Sentinel Poetry Movement Founded December 1, 2002. At Sentinel Poetry Movement we also run regular writing competitions in poetry and fiction.

Sentinel Poetry Movement is the popular online destination for poetry, fiction, drama, interviews, reviews, essays, events, festivals, memoirs, biographies and writing competitions. The vision of the movement is to build the world's premier community of writers and artists from all backgrounds, nationalities, race, religion, gender, age, sexuality, political or ideological affiliation. ream to build a comfortable place where established writers and artists in the nascent stages of their development may interact either through our unmoderated open forums, or through our new Writers Clubhouse which replaces the old Poetry Bar. In addition to these interactive forums, SPM Publications - the publishing arm of Sentinel Poetry Movement publishes Sentinel Literary Quarterly; an online magazine of world literature and art. Sentinel Literary Quarterly is an amalgamation of our now archived titles: Sentinel Poetry (Online) and Sentinel Poetry Quarterly (Print). SPM Publications also publishes two other magazines; Sentinel Nigeria and Sentinel Champions - The Sentinel Literary Quarterly Competitions Magazine published every 3 months in print and eBook. From time to time, we hold a live reading event, and run a bi-annual festival to bring our members together. Sentinel Poetry Movement was founded in December 2002 by poet, fiction writer, and dramatist Nnorom Azuonye.

Ross Cogan reads his poem 'William Mervyn' highly commended in the Sentinel Literary Quarterly poetry competition (July 2021) judged by Paul McDonald.

Cogan is not new to Sentinel. In August 2016, he won second prize and also received a high commendation in the SLQ competition.
