Nestled in Brussels’ Bois de la Cambre park, Ensō by Kaz Shirane is a sculpture that appears to float in space, a portal that coalesces the viewer’s attention into an intimate dialogue with the surrounding nature.
“In this sculpture, three stripes are folded into triangles and twisted to form a large circle,” explains Shirane.
“Made of heavy stainless steel with a mirror finish, the structure creates an impression of transparency as it reflects the surrounding scenery of Bois de la Cambre.”
Ensō was created for A Call To Travel, the sculpture trail initiated and curated by the Boghossian Foundation, inviting visitors to encounter six contemporary artworks across the park.
