British-Maltese countertenor Nathan Mercieca is rapidly establishing himself internationally as a soloist across both concert and opera. Recent appearances on stage include Athamas, Handel Semele (Waterperry Opera/OHP); cover Peisander, Monteverdi The Return of Ulysses (ROH); and Xerse, Cavalli Xerse (Grimeborn). A noted interpreter of contemporary music, he has created roles in Elton/Palmer These Wondering Stones (Barbican Centre); St. Catherine, Prynn/Floyd The Blue Margin (Outland Opera); CJ, Warboy & Stewart Fierce Love; and Daryl/The Devil, Muelas+Ward A&E (TĂŞte-Ă -TĂŞte).

As a concert soloist he appears at Wigmore Hall, King’s Place, the London Handel Festival, and the Aldeburgh Festival, as well as internationally at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, de Singel Antwerp, Thüringer Bachwochen, and the Festival Bach Montreal, with groups including the Irish Baroque Orchestra, The English Concert, and Solomon’s Knot.

🌟✨Introducing our soloists for Purcell’s DIDO AND AENEAS on Monday 4th May, 19:00. First up is Daisy Livesey, playing Second Woman and Second Witch🌟✨

Soprano Daisy Livesey is a soloist and choral musician working across the UK and abroad. Recent solo engagements include Britten The World of the Spirit (London Mozart Players, Snape Maltings, 2025), Bach Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen (Max Barley, Wimbledon International Music Festival, 2024), and Purcell The Fairy Queen (Hampstead Garden Opera, 2024). A keen recitalist, Daisy performed in the 2026 Barnes Music Festival and 2025 Ashburnham English Song Awards with pianist Ben Markovic. Internationally, Daisy has worked as a consort singer with Arcangelo, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Gabrieli Consort, Monteverdi Choir, La Nuova Musica, and the Hanover Band.

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, Daisy was taught by Alex Ashworth and Iain Ledingham, and awarded the Philip Hattey, Jennifer Vyvyan and Nancy Nuttall Early Music prizes.

Later this year, Daisy makes her Wigmore Hall debut as a soloist with Arcangelo, directed by Jonathan Cohen.
