London Playback Theatre London Playback Theatre creates spontaneous, improvised theatre through a unique collaboration between performers and audience.

We encourage people to share their real life stories and - through the magic of theatre - we bring those stories to life. You may be planning ways of energising an away-day or training programme or wondering how to ensure that a conference is a memorable event for the delegates. You might be looking for ideas to enliven a family event such as a wedding or civil partnership, anniversary or even a m

emorial service. Or your community group might be wondering about how to celebrate an anniversary or festival. Whatever event you are organising we can work with you on planning an innovative, lively, and creative programme to suit your needs.

This time we're trying something a little new for us...we have no theme! This show will begin with you. Your moments, your questions, your feelings. From there, we'll let the stories unfold. So, come as you are. Bring whatever is alive for you right now. We'll listen...and play it back!

✨ Happy new year! And happy new training! ✨

Are you new to Playback, or feeling rusty and want to revisit the foundations? Then this Level 1 Intensive is for you!

We will explore the core forms, theory and ritual of Playback Theatre, and you'll get to apply your new skills straight away through a relaxed playback performance for friends and family.

Over these 3.5 days we will:
- connect creatively as a group, developing playfulness and trust
- explore the foundational forms of playback theatre, and connect these to theory, context and applications
- practice the core playback theatre rituals
- share stories to gain experience as tellers and support the playback practice
- put your new skills into practice straight away, with a playback showcase for friends and family!

We're excited to collaborate with BOLD theatre as our training venue, who have wonderful community-focused values.

There are global majority scholarships and installment payment options available.

Stories of unknown grandparents, names crossing continents, trans-generational whispers, revisiting homelands, healing ancestral ruptures, finding new lineages of hope.
