Today we are excited to spotlight one of our newest members 🎛️👾🖤

Originally from Egypt and Kuwait and now based in NorCal for the past 12 years, AAYA has spent the last several years developing her musical style while exploring various sound design and production methods, as well as DJing. Her passion for sound design has allowed her to create a unique sonic space, as she carves all her sounds from scratch. She incorporates cutting edge bass design methods and otherworldly spaces, expressing that which is intangible. In doing so, she weaves together a tapestry of intricate edits, catchy leads, and hard-hitting basslines. She has released on labels such as Aspire Higher, Gravitas Recordings, Grand Alliance Music, Muti Music, and Prizmatik Records (her label). She was featured on Beatport’s “Best New Hype DnB” Playlists, and has rocked various festivals around the country with many more to come.

Monét is a Detroit-born, Chicago-based open format DJ, Poet and producer. When creating music or DJing, her soundscape is nothing short of experimental. It’s about the vitality of genre-bending, breaking rules, and exploring the vastness of her music catalog. When it comes to her sets, it’s about “how we get there”. Starting her career just 2 years ago, she’s now played over 60 events in the Chicago area and just released her first EP under the genre footwork called “see u dance.”

Today we celebrate Latine Culture by spotlighting a pivotal figure and woman pioneer in Electronic Music, Alida Vázquez Ayala.

Although her creative works and life story has yet to receive the recognition her memory deserves, this pivotal figure in contemporary electronic arts, and in Chicano feminism and activism, set the precedence for women in Electronic Music and Academia.

We seek to celebrate her life, her work, and her activism by bringing awareness to her story, and her efforts. Join us in doing so 🦋✨
