For the last twelve months myself and a lady who ran a successful community venue in North London have been subject to a vicious hate campaign by two well funded individuals who have libeled, incited hatred, made false reports to the police and accused us of selling off the venue to a property developer. These individuals have set up websites, distributed leaflets, contacted press etc and accused us of all manner of crimes.
They have labeled us as racists and been relentless in their unfounded allegations against us, and much of it libelous. We have had numerous threats made to us by telephone and all this is recorded with the police under the malicious communications act.
This culminated in Penny Potter, the Chair of Trustees who has successfully run the venue for 15 years having to flee her home in Tottenham along with her family due to the appalling threats she received from agents of the two ringleaders.
The successful community venue that she has been running with everything from rock gigs to still life painting has been trashed by these two individuals and a small cabal of interested parties.
Justin Katko and Lucy Beynon started up a “steering committes” using the charity name and together with interested parties bullied all the community users out of the building.
Mr Katko and his agents distributed leaflets and incited hatred against myself and Penny on websites and any media platform they could obtain. Lucy Beynon reported to the police that the Trust was stealing £33,000 per month. We are still waiting for her accounting which is out by £33,000.
This hate campaign has culminated in the building having £16,000 of property stolen, including our personnal property and the last community activities of the charity harassed out of the building.
The Trustees were abused all day in court when the building was broken into by their agents andthere is a court order against Justic Katko and their agents. They are still tresspassing in the bulding.
Why would they do this?
Both Justin Katko and Lucy Beynon were given full use of the building for their “theatre” which appears to be a front for their subversive activities.
Both are from wealthy families so why are they interested in taking over a small charity and destroying the Trust by libel? If they were serious about their cover story activities there are plenty of venues that they could run if they wanted too.
One possible reason is that the building could be bought very cheaply at auction or by an interested third party. (This seem likely and will soon become public)
We are trying to find out who is behind this hostile takeover as the level of incitement against us and the bare faced arrogance they display indicates that they are acting on behalf of some third party who believes they are above the law.
This group stole the Trust paperwork from the building, which included private addresses which have been used to harass relatives and friends of the Trustees.
The police are now fully aware of the situation and it recently escalated when a “messenger” was sent to Pennys current residence which is in a remote area due to the harassent campaign. The person now known to the police indicated that her life was in danger and someone wanted her dead.
False Allegation about the Trust selling the building:
The allegations that the Trustees of the Charity are selling the building and somehow keeping the money is ludicrous for the following reasons:
Trustees cannot use the money for their own purposes, the building is Trust Property and any basic understanding of Trust Law makes this obvious. A Trustee is someone looking after an asset for a specific purpose and they are not legally allowed to have any interest financially. This is why people set upTrust funds, so that the asset is no longer theirs.
The building can never be the property of anyone, it is the property of The Trust.
The rumour of the building being sold stem from a document stolen from the building. It had been decided years previously that the building was running up debts and the building was deteriorating.
The venue ran on tiny amounts of money as that was the ethos, it was for everyone.
An offer was made to relocate the Trust activities with a downpayment with a possible future sale so the Trust activities could continue at another local veune, the money would go for a new leasehold and set up projects and buy new equpment for the venue.
This agreement was never honoured. The allegations and lies spread about the sale of the building stem from this stolen document which was void abinitio (from the start).
The Trust cannot profit from the sale of the building, the Trust can only carry on if it fulfills its charitable objectives which Justin Katko and Lucy Berynon have done everything in their power to stop.
I have never seen this level of sustained hatred levelled against anybody who has done so much for others and has everything she worked for destroyed. This is why I have suffered their abuse in silence, up until now.
I have had over 12 months of hatred, lies and slander levelled at me (all of which will be made public and is in the hands of the police). This was because I was willing to stand up and defend what the Trust was set up for. I would not let these subversives steal the Trust for their own ends.
I became a Trustee because I thought what Penny was doing single handedly was what a real community centre should be. No corporate agenda, no formality and no pretence. I was made to feel absolutely welcome and I was impressed by Penny as she was genuinely helping everyone who walked through he door. That hospitality has been absolutely abused by the two named individuals and their agents.
The question we are asking is who are they working for?
The actions of these individuals have been despicable and as Trustees we have had little recourse as we cannot be seen to engage or even defend ourselves against this hatred and slander. False reports have been made to every possible authority about us and the Trust, it is all groundless and we are working with the police to make the perpetrators fully accountable for the actions.
The recent escalation into serious criminality now means this is all going to be made public.
This is the start of a full investigation and we will be making the whole story available (together with documents and screenshots) as we try and repair the terrible damage done to the venue, the charity and its reputation by what can be politely described as criminal subversives.
If the public let this kind of activity continue, they will get what is intended. Sterile, controlled venues run by agents of the state.
