Join us for day of togethering, listening and musiking at Abbey Gardens E15 — bring your own instruments 🌱💫👂🌺

We are gathering to celebrate the permanent installation of Limpe Fuchs’ serpentinite stone row - a musical instrument made of granite plates - at Abbey Gardens.

WORKSHOP + PERFORMANCE:

Centering the serpentinite stone row and Limpe’s practice, we have invited local artists duo Blanc Sceol to join us for a day of collective performances, improvisation and sonic meditation.

will host a workshop inviting participants to play her two pendulum string instruments, the serpentinite stone row, and small percussion pieces. She also encourages you to bring your own instruments. After showing the possibilities of playing with different tools and a period of trying, the precision of our listening will grow and nonverbal communication with the group, sounds and the environment will start.

will be performing with the ‘Orbit’, a self-created instrument they have collaborated with for years. This two-player instrument requires the performers to work together as the Orbit leads them into a cosmos of dynamic, pitch-shifting drones and harmonic rhythms. Their performance will facilitate deep listening and ecological attunement to the surroundings of Abbey Gardens.

💫 In ONE WEEK we will present art pieces and live acts musing on entropy, memory, melancholia and sustainability. Together, they offer meditations on the paradox we see in new technologies: the promise once held of a better future has nowadays warped into a daunting shadow over our present time.

Part of Art Fair and punctuating the five floors of Oxo Tower Wharf] , SENSE proposes a potential journey to the viewers with artworks installed for the four days of the fair and a schedule of live performances on the opening night.

Thanks to everyone who made SYMBIOSIS a magical night 🍃🐝🌻 28.MAY.2022 🌿☘️💥

We decided to explore the theme Symbiosis, considering/appreciating the relationships we maintain with those we live, work, create and also our connection with our homes and communities. Therefore, we got in touch with talented friends and longtime collaborators, to help us create a stimulating night of audiovisual performances and installations in a homey environment at a converted warehouse in Hackney Wick.
