She is inspired by fond memories of growing up in rural Australia, her journeys around the world and a vivid imagination.

Paula Mary is a mixed media artist whose work is shaped by her neurodiverse experience across the landscapes of the four cities she’s called home, reflecting on her relationship with land, memory and self. Paula Mary is a Mixed Media Artist that expresses her creativity through intuitive and intentional mark making to produce work that is a representation of abstract landscapes and surrealist dreamscapes.

'Halfway Home' Solo Exhibition at West Norwood Picturehouse between 11 January - 4 April.

Please come along to the Launch Party on 16th January between 6-9pm to celebrate my first exhibition of 2026 over a glass of wine.

I'll be cheerful (unlike this contemplative photo of me) I promise 😂

My work explores landscape, not as a literal place but as a representation of memory. Home becomes both a resting place and an uncertain terrain, formed through echoes of land and memory, a space where forms dissolve into mere suggestions and gestural marks evolve into shapes that hover between recognition and abstraction.

Ambiguity is intentional - symbolic haziness, tonal atmospheres, and layered impressions invite viewers to coexist with mystery rather than resolve it.

New Solo Exhibition announcement

I’m so pleased to announce my next solo exhibition, ‘Halfway Home’, at The West Norwood Picture House from 11 January through to 4 April.

This amazing opportunity is provided by Packed Lunch Productions to celebrate me being their 1st artist in residence.

I’ll be sharing the space with the current artist in residence and fellow South London artist, Jonny Kemp.

It's about time to introduce the next batch from my Australian Bushfire series.

I got distracted by working on a new idea, so these took a back burner. This weekend I've focused on completing some more from this collection.
