We are looking for an enthusiastic, engaged and collaborative individual looking to make a distinctive contribution to KWT. As Chair of the Board of Trustees, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for KWT as it seeks to fulfil its charitable objects, ensuring it operates in accordance with its governing document and meet its legal and regulatory obligations.

You will be able to act with tact and diplomacy, possess the ability to listen and engage effectively, and foster and promote a collaborative environment. Board meetings will be places where all participants are encouraged to contribute, constructively challenge, express diverse views and develop consensus. You will bring an external, independent perspective to the Board, lead on strategy development and help the charity grow.

You will be able to motivate the staff team and provide support, and where appropriate challenge, the Director through your responsibility as their line manager.

You will have the time and sensitivity to work with all KWT’s internal and external stakeholders to strengthen relationships and help KWT grow.
You will have a good understanding of charity governance, financial matters and of the pressures put upon a small organisation managing a large building with many studio-holders. You will further need to ensure that the board of Trustees is regularly refreshed, is diverse and incorporates the right balance of skills, knowledge and experience needed to govern and lead the Trust effectively.

Please note that all KWT trustee positions are voluntary, unpaid positions.

WHO: Kingsgate Workshops is a multi-use art space housed within a labyrinthine Victorian factory, providing affordable workspaces for an exciting mix of artists, makers and designers.

WHERE: Kingsgate Workshops Trust, 110-116 Kingsgate Road, London NW6 2JG

OPENINGS TIMES: we are not generally open to the public, however keep an eye out for individual studio member’s listed workshops/courses and our annual Open Studio & Winter Fair!

STUDIO FAQs: We have no current available studio spaces- vacant studio spaces are advertised through our mailing list, website and social media accounts- applications are open to all.

HOW TO GET HERE:
By Bus 🚌
The following buses stop within a short distance of Kingsgate Workshops:
16, 316, 189, 32, 332

By Train 🚇
There are 6 stations within a short walk;
West Hampstead Jubilee line (7 mins)
West Hampstead Overground (8 mins)
West Hampstead Thameslink (9 mins)
Brondesbury Overground (7 mins)
Kilburn Jubilee Line (10 mins)
Kilburn Park Bakerloo line (15 mins)

By Car 🚗
On weekends, there is a limited amount of free parking spaces on Kingsgate Road. Because this is so rare, we ask you to avoid travelling by car if possible.

By Cycle 🚴‍♀️
There is a Lime Bike parking station outside our building and bicycle racks outside the Community Centre opposite.

A Look back at Light up Kilburn, we were lucky enough to host the artist Hannah Grace Whittaker in our Project Space for their Bioluminescent Garden workshop. Organised by Hive Curates together with members of the public they created UV sculptural flowers that lit up our local Kilburn Grange Park!

Happy Spring Equipx from KWT which was looking especially sunny yesterday! Here’s a tour of some of the lovely blossom trees in the neighbouring area including a great big magnolia outside . We know this account hasn’t been too active recently but we are aiming to start posting regularly from now on so keep your eyes peeling for exciting future announcements! 🌸🌸🌸

Kingsgate Workshops is looking for a new Administrator & Office Manager to work at our busy creative building of artist, designer and maker studios in West Hampstead.

Hours: 21 hours per week, Wednesdays - Friday (this is an office-based position)
Salary: £27-£29k FTE (£16,200-£17,400 pro rata), depending on experience.

Application Deadline: Saturday 3rd January 2026
Interviews: Wednesday 21st January 2026
Provisional Contract Start Date: Wednesday 4th February 2026
