Well The cat is out of the bag! we were absolutely thrilled to be asked by the Propstore team to restore a legendary icon of screen history, Boba Fett's EE-3 as seen in Empire Strikes back, even more so we were invited along to geek out with non other than Adam Savage for their latest Tested Video where we got to fly our geek flag high and go into all the details of the work involved, today we are beaming!!

Yesterday was a wonderful day for Orbital FX at The Big Summit! we got to chat with so many wonderful fellow creative business owners.

Pitching went well but as always its hard to assertain how well it goes until the conversations after the event haha!

The main event of the day, was the opertunity to speak to the attendees ahead of a panel Q&A chaired by Sir Peter Bazalgette, the audience and Panel made me feel very welcome as Luke shared a little on our journey in buisness, what support means to us and also what our vision for education across the country could look like if we move from a mindset of STEM to STEAM, something of a personal crusade for us!.

Thanks to fellow panelists Ali Kazmi, Christopher Smith, Shanaz Gulzar & Mark Adamson FRSA and everyone who had kind words for Luke after the presentation.

We want to see our next generations be the greatest problem solvers they possibly can be, not just for the creative sector but the wider country and feilds in tech as the benefits truely go both ways!

I also want to take the time to thank so many of the wonderful Creative UK team for welcoming us along to be part of this event, I will no doubt miss some names but particularly thank you for the onsite support from Charlie & Northern super star Dale

We were so fortunate to make closer toes with our fellow northern creatives from , .studio &

James, Victoria, Gemma, Karen & I shared a few meals together and was great to get to know them better!

we also got to meet Sam Cordingley & Eva Cordingley who were our booth neighbours and truely wonderful people!

Oh and to top it off of course we only went and met Mr Motivator!!!

Last Wednesday, Luke had the pleasure of teaching some model-making students an introductory course on electronics at the Northern School of Art. This was followed by a short chat with the model-making students about the current tools & techniques we use here at Orbital FX and the skills gaps we see here in the north, followed by a talk with a broader audience of students from across the group in the afternoon about the power of Collaboration and what is possible creatively when you work with others.

We came away enthused and excited for the future! 🚀

Last night we had our inaugural Christmas party for Orbital, we are so proud of the growing community of creatives around us as we go forward, 2024 was a very exciting and challenging year to begin and we cannot wait for 2025! Another week another Wonderful Laser project for our friends over at with our powerful 120W Laser we can cut through some of the thickest materiels with ease creating a quality edge finish

We can cut up to 20mm Plywood cleanly and so far we've cut 20mm thick acrylic but I suspect we can probably go thicker!

48 Hours from CAD to Reality.. We were asked by to produce a seat rig for a short in production with hexagon pictures and Winding Lane Pictures directed by Anastasia bruce-jones designed and simulted in with some speedy welding from our friends at coupled with some 18mm laser cut wood panels with 3D printed custom capping and we are good to go ahead of schedule!

Luke was thrilled to be a part of SLUGME 9 in Boston, USA representing Orbital FX sharing tips and insights into our processes using to bring exciting creative works to life. Being surrounded by so many enthusiastic creatives is where we thrive best.. and the end Drift trike was ALOT of fun to ride thanks to for capturing Luke having fun on camera & Thanks to the rest of the team (so many its hard to tag you all here!) & to my fellow brit bro for friendship and fun the day was nonstop laughter & uncapped creative joy, roll on SLUGME10!!
