performing their new song ‘Lost in Translation’ live at Barfly last night. 🖤

Last night, Palaye Royale took to the Barfly stage for a sold-out ! Presents show, bringing their theatrical blend of alternative rock and rock ’n’ roll to Camden.

From international tours to a 200-capacity venue in the heart of Camden Town, it was a rare opportunity to see Palaye Royale up close.

HOT VOX events coming up at Barfly 👀

Swipe to see what’s on →

First up, HOT VOX Presents brings four new names to our Camden stage on 31st October.

The Chores bring raw East and South London indie rock; Band Deluxe describe their particular concoction as “Pagan Surf Music, baggy beats and a Spaghetti Western Fuzz”;

Kinoko Curse pair heavy, distorted post-grunge guitars with ethereal vocals;

moves between ambient alternative indie-pop, R&B and soul.

Four very different sounds, one night dedicated to discovering what’s coming out of the new music scene.

Next up from HOT VOX at Barfly: four more artists to get on your radar.

Hestia channel the immediacy of their live shows into raw guitars and energetic alt-rock,

LOWBLOCK draw from the heavier and more melodic side of ’90s and ’00s rock.

Unit 35 bring male-female vocal duets, infectious guitar riffs and cinematic indie-rock arrangements,

HALLE STONE switches things up with a blend of jazz, pop, rock and soul, led by warm songwriting and velvety vocals.
A snapshot of four very different corners of London’s new music scene, all under one roof.

And there’s more HOT VOX heading to Barfly before the year is out.

Manchester alternative-rock band head to Camden with music built around the individual personalities of the band — riffs to get your head moving, melodies to sing along to and lyrics designed to make you think.

Joining them are The Listening Board , a four-piece alternative rock band mixing raw, grunge-influenced sounds with deeper lyrical themes. Their debut EP Vanity Pose tackles both personal and wider struggles across five tracks.
And the line-up isn’t finished yet, with more artists still to be announced.

X-POSURE LIVE IS COMING HOME TO BARFLY. 📻

Barfly and Radio X are reuniting to bring X-Posure Live back to the Chalk Farm Road stage, with John Kennedy iconic new-music showcase becoming a permanent monthly residency at Barfly.

It’s a partnership with plenty of history. X-Posure Live previously brought artists including Wolf Alice, Sam Fender, Interpol and Frank Turner to our stage, capturing new music in the room at pivotal points in artists’ careers.

The residency launches on 22nd October with Florentenes, followed by the return of the X-Posure All-Dayer on 16th January 2027 and Big Truck on 18th February — with plenty more still to come.

And there’s another big addition this time around: a dedicated recording and mixing studio at Barfly, allowing performances to go from our stage to the X-Posure airwaves.

First up: florentenes

On Thursday 22nd October, the Bolton four-piece will officially launch the returning X-Posure Live residency at Barfly.

Already a favourite of John Kennedy and championed on his Radio X show, Florentenes have been turning heads with support slots for The Royston Club, Jamie Webster and The Wombats, alongside appearances at Liverpool Sound City and Neighbourhood Weekender.

Their recent single Madeline was produced by Dave Eringa — whose credits include Manic Street Preachers and The Who — and now they’ll be the first band to take to our stage as X-Posure Live begins its new chapter in Camden.

Next year, X-Posure Live welcomes BIG TRUCK to Barfly.

The new band from SOFT PLAY’s Laurie Vincent bring their self-described “life-affirming abstract guitar pop” to Camden on Thursday 18th February, following the release of debut album Middle At The Middleway on Marshall Records.

It’s another addition to a residency built around what X-Posure Live has always done: putting new and exciting artists on an intimate stage and sharing those performances far beyond the room.

🎶 VINYL OF THE WEEK 🎶

The Elephant - Ledbyher

This week’s vinyl was chosen by alfie.

“Ledbyher is easily one of the most interesting voices coming out of the growing underground rap scene within the UK. She beautifully combines rap with a more melodic tone, singing her bars over experimental beats. Her sound is a genuinely indescribable one (for me), you really just have to listen to it. “

Rachel stepped into wider acclaim with her breakout single “DAYDREAMING MADE ME BLUE” shortly followed her debut album “The Elephant”, beautifully merging and mixing sounds through a range of emotions.

Our record was purchased at the first of her two sold-out London shows as part of her UK tour earlier this year and features her autograph on the top right.

Next time your visit the barfly pick a record off the wall and we’ll give it a spin!
