Kisetsushima conforms to a unique alchemical model. A combination of Godai 五大 and Gogyo五行, the philosophy features five cycling elements and two oscillating elements. The first element of the circle is wood, an element that represents growth, flexibility and strength. Individuals born during an astrological year of wood are more likely to be warm and idealistic, though easily flustered when they don't get their way. The living embodiments of the element are the souls born of them. While there are elementals of all seven varieties, none have such a strong connection to nature as the mystical Kodama 木霊.
