Futures Theatre Futures Theatre creates new plays, inspired and informed by the stories and life experiences of wome We are a full time team of four!

Our main activities include:
- Producing new writing, inspired by authentic female stories, for a mainstream audience
- Touring Forum Theare Productions for young people on pertinent issues such as sexual coercion, po*******hy, and gangs, to school theatres

and venues.
- Delivering creative engagement programmes for disadvantaged women in Lambeth
- Specialist training sessions for social workers, who in turn support the marginalised women and young people we engage with.

WE WON AN OFFIE!!

We are so proud to announce that we were awarded an Offie in the Industry and Inclusion category for Argos Archives.

We put accessibility at the forefront of this production. All performances were relaxed, offered stim toys and had breakout spaces. This was so we could cater to the neurodivergent members of our audience and reflect the main character’s experiences. As a smaller organisation our ambitions often outweigh our budget, we looked past these limitations and accommodated the needs of everyone involved. We feel honoured to receive recognition for this.

Listen to what our lovely Thrive participants have to say about their recent performance at !

The overarching theme for this event was mudlarking, which is exploring the foreshore of a river to discover historical artifacts. Our Thrive participants explored the Thames foreshore at low tide to uncover hidden treasures and stories, led by writer and mudlark . This experience was the starting point for weekly creative writing sessions, at our partner organisation The Bridge. Participants wrote monologues inspired by their time on the foreshore and the objects they discovered. Some participants even created an original song with composer based on their experiences.

This intimate, invite-only performance gave the group the opportunity to share their work and celebrate with friends and fellow creatives.

We’re excited to announce a new bonus episode of our award-winning podcast Fully Amplified.

Restless Women features a group of neurodivergent women in conversation, tenderly discussing the challenges and surprises of a later in life diagnosis. This episode features original creative writing by Vicky, Victoria and T. Begum

Restless Women was made alongside our latest production Argos Archives. In the lead up to the production opening at Northern Stage, participants worked with artists Rachel Stockdale and Lucy Curry, also featured in this episode.

🎗🟠Today on 25th November 2025 we mark the start of the 16 Days of Activism campaign which will run until 10th December 2025.

🎗🟠This global campaign was founded in 1991 by the first Women’s Global Leadership Institute at Rutgers University to combat violence against women and girls.
This year’s theme is “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls”, putting a spotlight on the increasing threat of online harassment, image-based abuse and digital coercive control.

🎗🟠In light of this theme, we reflect back on one of our past productions, Underwater Love. This play looked at the challenges young people face in navigating relationships. It told the story of Vinnie, a young girl who experienced coercion in a new relationship and had explicit photos leaked online. We worked directly with our young audiences to explore the moments in the story where they might have been able to affect change. 🎗🟠Over the next 16 days millions of women will action against the growing threat of digital violence by:
• Spreading awareness and resources
• Assisting local services that support victims
• Hosting and participating in sessions that promote online safety
• Encouraging governments and companies to adopt better laws and policies

🎗🟠1 in 3 women experience gender-based violence, but this violence isn’t just physical. This year’s theme highlights how it can encompass our online spaces as well. Not just affecting the victims but also those who happen to witness the abuse. Therefore, it’s important that we all educate ourselves and encourage our companies and governing bodies to take action.

Tash is a HR professional who has worked in the arts for the past 3 years. Having trained in Drama, she then completed a masters in HR Management. Starting her career in the corporate world, she is now People Partner at The Old Vic, combining her love of theatre with her professional skills in HR.

Tanya-Loretta Dee is an outstanding actor and writer who has been on our board of Trustees since 2022.

She has worked extensively across TV, film and theatre, especially for new writing. Her most recent work includes Big Big Sky by Tom Wells at The New Vic, as well as a wide range of Ayckbourn directed plays, and contemporary work. She has also had major roles on TV shows such as Eastenders, Peaky Blinders and Doctors. She will join the Royal Court Writers’ Group early next year.

LOOP is her debut full length play. It is rooted in her love for dark fairy tales and folklore to explore relationships, inheritance and the blurred lines between fantasy and reality, continuing her passion for bold, story-driven theatre.
