Post-show Q&A with Lord Brian Paddick and Stephen Morris, Sat 27 April 4pm at Soho Theatre.
Brian Paddick joined the Metropolitan Police in 1976 and served for over 30 years. He served both in uniform and as a Detective, at local police stations and at New Scotland Yard, performing both policy and operational roles. He left the police on 31 May 2007 as a Deputy Assistant Commissioner.
In 2008 and 2012, Brian Paddick ran as the Liberal Democrat Candidate for Mayor of London. In August 2013 he was created a life peer. Lord Paddick is the Liberal Democrat Front Bench Spokesman on Home Affairs in the House of Lords and is an officer of the All-Party Political Group on Knife Crime.
Through full-time police scholarships, Brian Paddick has a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Queen’s College, Oxford, an MBA from Warwick Business School and a diploma in Policing and Applied Criminology from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.
Joining Brian is Stephen Morris. Stephen is the Chemsex & Crime Lead for the London Division of Her Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service. He has worked in the field of crime for over 25 years. During this time, he specialised in the treatment of sex offenders and in the prison service he established offence focused counselling provision, specialist intervention for personality disordered prisoners and treatment groups for crime related trauma. He is the specialist sexual crime consultant to HMP Brixton. Stephen has pioneered the national recognition of chemsex related crime and consulted to a number of related high-profile cases. His work has achieved a Ministry of Justice innovation award to enable the development of assessment and treatment resources that are respectful and considerate of the unique vulnerability factors for gay men involved in chemsex. To enable effective management of risk and vulnerability associated with Chemsex related crime Stephen has established working relationships with a variety of LGBT organisations, NHS sexual health services and HM Courts Service.
