Did you know female Rhinoceros Hornbill’s trap themselves in tree cavities to protect themselves and their young when their eggs are about to hatch?

Inspired by and my visit to , I decided to help spread awareness of these fantastic and vulnerable animals by creating a cold-cast bronze statue consisting of two matrix moulds, two two-part moulds and two box moulds. The make also encouraged using sustainable practices and materials.

Does anyone recognise who wields this dagger?

My aim for this personal project was to practice assembling and finishing 3D prints, and make a cool replica at the same time! I really like how natural daylight catches the metallic finish of the blade.

I’m very pleased to finally post some of the finished pictures of the Spring Awakening props, with a dystopian twist! Designed by myself and and built with the help from our fellow 2nd and 1st years.

We designed and built; a custom flying logo, 8 custom wooden stage blocks, 2 featuring custom logo vents as foot holds with electrical boxes on the back, along side 5 redesigned pre-welded blocks, laser cut 40 badges and a fake razor blade! All finished to look like damp drywall with rusty metal detailing.
