A little update from The Bread & Roses Theatre 🌹
We’re delighted to share that, from August 2026, The Bread & Roses Theatre will be moving into an exciting new chapter.
After more than a decade leading the theatre, Managing Director Rebecca Pryle and Artistic Director Velenzia Spearpoint will step into newly created Executive Director roles, continuing to shape the theatre’s longterm vision and future growth.
We’re thrilled to welcome Adam Laboda as our new Artistic Director and Lauren Cook as our new Theatre Administrator & Venue Assistant. Together, they’ll lead the theatre’s day-to-day operations, artistic programme and artist support, building on the work that has made The Bread & Roses what it is today.
While roles are changing, our mission remains the same: to create opportunities, champion bold new writing and underrepresented voices and provide a home for artists and audiences. We’ll continue building a theatre where opportunity isn’t limited by background or budget.
Thank you to every artist, audience member, collaborator, volunteer and supporter who has been part of The Bread & Roses community so far. This theatre has always been built by the people who walk through its doors and we’re incredibly grateful.
We’re excited for what’s ahead ❤️
