Now the dust has settled and I’ve had some form of sleep… I can post about Saturday night!
Now doing parties is hard, especially on your own. HARD… WORK. Especially when you have issues with the venue and venue staff. But it’s probably the only hard work I am equipped for. Months of promoting, creating, organising to lead up to ONE night.
I struggle with giving myself crediting or recognising any good work I’ve done, I live in the future a lot, I am always thinking about what’s next and elevating but over the last couple of days I have taken a moment to be like… nah man, the 12/13 year old me would be so excited and probably proud. I’ve launched a party where I play all night long, this time round 4 hours of underground House & Garage, the music that I love the most, alongside some legendary foundational MCs that I have the utmost respect for.
I have to shout out 4 MCs who I have literally grown up listening to. I might know them personally now, but the young boy in me still lives in awe of them 🏆
I have to shout out my brother always the most encouraging and supportive of what I do and the craftsmanship, love and admiration bro 🫶🏾
And last but definitely never least, I have to shout out my Shortbread for all of her support mentally and physically, helping me with filming some content in the lead up, doing the door on the night and just being my very own personal cheerleader. The GOAT (although she prefers Alpacas) 💘
Massive big ups to EVERYONE that came out, my brothers, my big niece and her boyfriend, my Mrs’ sister and friends, my DJ pals… I know some people that bought tickets and had guestlist didn’t make it and it would have made everything “look better” but I can’t complain about the vibe, atmosphere and energy, based on every bit of feedback I’ve got… it was top tier and that’s all I could have hoped for.
