We are finishing this journey of meeting all of our team members with the last one of us, but not the last in place. Meet Mukti Murton, co-founder of Tellus Theatre and Head of Education! Dive into our interview with Mukti as she shares with us things like how did everything begin, what unconventional animal she would have as a pet and gives us insights of where does she think Godot truly is.
Where are you from?
I am from the Netherlands.
How did everything begin?
Everything ... .Well, um everything…, well my birth was in the Netherlands, but theatre wise, I think it was Billy Eliot, that I saw and I never really knew that you could and I never really knew that you could audition for plays. I thought you had to be born and then at your birth you would be told: “You are going to work in theatre”. So when I found out at the young age of eleven that you could audition, I was like “O fabulous, this is what i wanna do.”
What is the name of your childhood teddy bear?
I had many, but I had this rabbit that was called *insert danish word*, which is dutch for dog. “Little dog”
What unconventional animal do you wish you could have as a pet?
Chicken. Yeah.
If you were a song, which song would you be?
I would like to be like “Mr Blue Sky”, by Electric Light Orchestra
What is your Roman Empire?
I think it is gonna become camper vans and van life.
What would you add as the 11th commandment?
Have fun and playfulness in life.
What inspires you?
People around me, artists inspire me. Um, but I get more and more respect for people who are very content with whatever they are doing.
Dream role?
I think Christine from “ The Phantom of the Opera”
What is magic?
I think magic is like a vibration that you can’t see, most humans can’t see in their vision, but it is just above the suffice. And if you can tap into that, it’s magic.
Is there anybody out there?
Yes, yes I think, in a different time dimension.
Finally, where is Godot?
I think Godot found a nice Mcdonalds along the road, somewhere, and stayed there eating burgers, vegan burgers.
