SPID Theatre Company An innovative theatre company making community art to champion social change and regenerate neglected spaces, for and with young people 🕸️

SPID also has an active youth education programme, offering diverse range of workshops to people aged 8 - 25 for free. These workshops provide a chance for them to explore their creative side to the fullest. Helps them to learn about the local history and equips them with life-skills through the arts. Far Far Away is our current year-long programme of free workshops offering weekly sessions in sk

ills such as writing, theatre, puppet making, music and acting, and will culminate in a special performance at the end of term for all participants to demonstrate their work in front of an audience. Workshops take place on Tuesday evenings for 8 - 13 year olds, from 4:45 - 6pm. Estate Endz is our Living Heritage project for 13 - 25 year olds which offer young people the chance to explore the local heritage and gain employability skills. Estate Endz Open Space reopens on June 18!

Were you part of Open Space before? Come back, reconnect, bring something new, and help shape the next round!
Never been before? This is your invitation!

Open Space is a free creative space for young people aged 14-25 to develop ideas, meet fellow artists, get feedback, and build confidence in your own work. Whether you’re into poetry, rap, theatre, tik tok dancing, or you’re still figuring it out - bring any gold you hide and share, or just come along and see what happens.

Across the programme, you can:
- Workshop your own creative ideas
- Get advice from artists, activists and industry professionals
- Meet other young creatives
- Play table tennis, try karaoke, and hang out
- Get free sandwiches and travel expenses

We’ll celebrate everyone’s work with an Open Mic Night on 16 July, hosted by El Crisis - a chance to share your work, perform in front of a live audience, and get supportive feedback from industry professionals.

Far Far Away Open Space is back on 16 June! 💥Free places are limited, sign your child up now!

Parents and carers, Far Far Away is opening up a new Open Space block at SPID!

Do your kids need somewhere fun, friendly and creative to hang out with friends this summer?

Open Space is a FREE creative space for young people aged 8-13, a place to shake their bodies, sing, play, get support, make friends, and try something new!

Across six playful sessions, children can enjoy:
- TikTok dance
- Karaoke
- Table tennis
- Gardening
- Creative games and social time
- Homework support - newly added to this block!

Each session will be led and supported by SPID professionals, with a snack break included.

Whether your child loves games, wants to make new friends, needs a confidence boost, would like some help with homework, or just wants somewhere positive to spend time after school, Far Far Away Open Space is a fun and welcoming place to join in.

We’re beyond proud to share that SPID Theatre has been named the recipient of the 2026 RIBA London award we also won the Client of the Year Award for the restoration of Kensal House Community Rooms. 🏆💥✨

This recognition means so much because it celebrates more than a building it celebrates community, accessibility, creativity and the power of social housing.

Thank you to every resident, artist, participant, supporter and collaborator who helped bring this vision back to life. This award belongs to the whole community.
