PHEW! Wrapping up a 16 year old life is no exercise for the faint of hearted - but we are finally down to the bare bones of what once was the yarn emporium Knit With Attitude.

I’ve got these ones up for grabs!

3 dummies size M £30

2 Custom built display walls for faires or shop display - these are amazingly well made with shelf, hooks, pegs all the accessories!
Collapsed and flat packed they take no space at all for transporting. £100

NKK motorised heavy duty ball winder £500

All of these need to be picked up from our London location, for you guys further afield - I did a final tidying in the webshop so it is easy to find what we have left.
Everything is 20% off, no code necessary - as soon as you go to check out you’ll se the added discount.

With our last opening day well passed, and our doors firmly closed for the last time, here we are appearing from behind the packing stations slightly out of breath, covered in tissue paper, mailing bags, sticky tape, and quite emotional.

As we’ve said goodbye to our local community, who showed up in celebration with such warmth, we’ve now been getting those orders from our wider reaching online community wrapped up. It is truly humbling to see how far we’ve reached connecting through this little yarn shop. The support you’ve shown me, as my life is about to change so suddenly, leaves me in gratitude for what must have been one of the most wonderful woolly chapters anyone could have wished for.

George and I are having our last day together in the shop today. We’ve tidied up and re-stocked the online shop. Yes we did find an extra one or two of much loved and sought after stuff that we thought were out of stock, and we’ve even added our gorgeous samples - a once in a lifetime opportunity to get your hands on knitwear meticulously made by the designers themselves. Truly treasures are still to be found!

Not only that, we are upping the game providing even more incentive to pay us a visit - everything in the online shop is now 20% off - no code necessary!

I’m not crying, you’re crying!
Seriously though, every time I think there is no more held salt water in my body, one of you say something to comfort me and the floods are wide open again.

Thank you so much to everyone who are placing orders in my online shop - we are literarily drowning in recent orders, and the shop looks like it!
This is truly the best possible help you can give, as I am facing the process I am now about to embark on.
I have read every single comment and email, and I've noted the questions you have. You have no idea how much your encouragement and support is carrying me at the moment - I am forever grateful!

So, on a practical note to help us cope with the situation:
Knit with attitude will be closed tomorrow Wednesday and Thursday, so that we can get all orders sent out.
This will enable us to tidy up the shop and make it as presentable as possible,
before welcoming you for our last days open in the physical shop here in Stoke Newington, which will be Friday - Monday.

You can expect following posts answering your questions and continued musings from me - just need to catch my breath.

Whether you are loving or hating it, me myself being somewhere in the middle, it seems like this summer heat is about to go on forever! BUT as knitters and crocheters we all know it is just a matter of time before we are blessed with sweater weather.

So, in preparation of all the wonderful chilled evenings spent with our needles and hooks ahead, we’ve decided to up our game - we are extending our HOT SUMMER SALE.
And not only that, we’re also rising the bars!

Starting from this morning, right now, you will get 15% off ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING both online and in store!
Use the code HOTSUMMER in check out to claim your discount, or pop in!
(Can I just mention that with both the front and the back doors open, Knit with attitude is actually a quite chilled place to hang out.)

Yes - this is one of those summers where we’ve decided to run our irregular when-we-feel-like-it SUMMER SALE! As one heat wave after the other is flooding through this city, literally melting our brains (not to mention our needles), what else is there to do but go YARN SHOPPING!

With the heat and my peri-menopausal head, I simply don’t have the brain power to come up with a complicated tiered system (all though they are quite fun when I do), so we are keeping things simple. The code HOTSUMMER will give 10% off on everything in the shop, with the exception of Thread & Maple which is currently on pre-order. Please note, we are keeping the sale for online purchases only.

So - what are you waiting for!!! Curl up, cold beverage at hand, pop over to the shop for a browse - and grab that bargain!

Moving shop meant that we got a once in a blue moon opportunity to do a deep dive into our archives - and oh my what treasures we found!!! They might not be relevant to our selection of yarns anymore, but that doesn’t take away from the exquisite craftsmanship behind and beauty of these designs - often actually made by the designers themselves. Shop the collection now!

I’ve been silent on here lately, and this is why.

Last week we went off grid, swapping the London heat wave for the land where life is as wild and raw as the nature, and where the sun never sets.
My mum turned 80 rounds around the sun and we took her on a trip to her home town Vardø.
I’ve not been there since I was a child, and my kids had not seen their origins before.
We went by sea, the route that was my mum’s first job, before embarking on a 10 year career at sea, travelling the world as a Radio Officer.

A huge undertaking for my family, this once in a lifetime trip we planned for 5 years to make happen, I’d love to share some of its moments with you!

1. Meeting up in Tromsø before boarding the ship
2 - 5. The sun that never sets.
6. Above Sweden, Finland and Russia. Blue dot is us on the ship, X is where we’re going.
7. Arriving at Vardø 4am in the morning.
8. The Pomor Trade Hut where we stayed.
9 - 10 Vardø
11 -12 My family farm land
13 - 14 The Memorial for women and men burned as witches.
15. Mordor? No, it is Finnmark!
16 - 17 Floating sauna
18. Cold Plunging in the Barents Sea 8.5 ℃
