With our last opening day well passed, and our doors firmly closed for the last time, here we are appearing from behind the packing stations slightly out of breath, covered in tissue paper, mailing bags, sticky tape, and quite emotional.

As we’ve said goodbye to our local community, who showed up in celebration with such warmth, we’ve now been getting those orders from our wider reaching online community wrapped up. It is truly humbling to see how far we’ve reached connecting through this little yarn shop. The support you’ve shown me, as my life is about to change so suddenly, leaves me in gratitude for what must have been one of the most wonderful woolly chapters anyone could have wished for.

George and I are having our last day together in the shop today. We’ve tidied up and re-stocked the online shop. Yes we did find an extra one or two of much loved and sought after stuff that we thought were out of stock, and we’ve even added our gorgeous samples - a once in a lifetime opportunity to get your hands on knitwear meticulously made by the designers themselves. Truly treasures are still to be found!

I’m not crying, you’re crying!
Seriously though, every time I think there is no more held salt water in my body, one of you say something to comfort me and the floods are wide open again.

Thank you so much to everyone who are placing orders in my online shop - we are literarily drowning in recent orders, and the shop looks like it!
This is truly the best possible help you can give, as I am facing the process I am now about to embark on.
I have read every single comment and email, and I've noted the questions you have. You have no idea how much your encouragement and support is carrying me at the moment - I am forever grateful!

So, on a practical note to help us cope with the situation:
Knit with attitude will be closed tomorrow Wednesday and Thursday, so that we can get all orders sent out.
This will enable us to tidy up the shop and make it as presentable as possible,
before welcoming you for our last days open in the physical shop here in Stoke Newington, which will be Friday - Monday.

You can expect following posts answering your questions and continued musings from me - just need to catch my breath.

Yes - this is one of those summers where we’ve decided to run our irregular when-we-feel-like-it SUMMER SALE! As one heat wave after the other is flooding through this city, literally melting our brains (not to mention our needles), what else is there to do but go YARN SHOPPING!

With the heat and my peri-menopausal head, I simply don’t have the brain power to come up with a complicated tiered system (all though they are quite fun when I do), so we are keeping things simple. I’ve been silent on here lately, and this is why.

Last week we went off grid, swapping the London heat wave for the land where life is as wild and raw as the nature, and where the sun never sets.
My mum turned 80 rounds around the sun and we took her on a trip to her home town Vardø.
I’ve not been there since I was a child, and my kids had not seen their origins before.
We went by sea, the route that was my mum’s first job, before embarking on a 10 year career at sea, travelling the world as a Radio Officer.

A huge undertaking for my family, this once in a lifetime trip we planned for 5 years to make happen, I’d love to share some of its moments with you!

1. Meeting up in Tromsø before boarding the ship
2 - 5. The sun that never sets.
6. Above Sweden, Finland and Russia. Blue dot is us on the ship, X is where we’re going.
7. Arriving at Vardø 4am in the morning.
8. The Pomor Trade Hut where we stayed.
9 - 10 Vardø
11 -12 My family farm land
13 - 14 The Memorial for women and men burned as witches.
15. Mordor? No, it is Finnmark!
16 - 17 Floating sauna
18. Cold Plunging in the Barents Sea 8.5 ℃
