Hello, this is again.
While producing my final major practice in the March 2020 lockdown, I knew that I wanted to produce colour images.
At home, I used a red, followed by green, followed by blue glass filter on a camera loaded with 35mm black and white (monochrome) film.
These three frames where then digitally scanned and then placed in their respective colour channels in Photoshop.
This then produced a digital colour negative which, when inverted, produced what you see here.
This technique, known variously as a multiple back, repeating back or drop back camera set up but now commonly referred to as ‘trichrome’, allows for the capturing and reproducing of colours from monochromatic film media.
