Message from Anne White It is with deep sadness I announce the death of our much loved friend Sheikh Taha, Mahmoud Elsekely. His health deteriorated considerably late last Autumn and he was in and out hospitals on a regular basis since then. He tried his best in an intelligent and scientific way to manage his challenges and issues. His resourceful and creativity in doing so never ceased to amaze me. Many in this time were a source of great comfort and support to him, especially his wonderful neighbours, and his Guardian Angel Ghareeb Ramadan. He diminished considerably since December and having visited him in a number of hospitals I am a witness to the love and care and kindly vigilance of the Medical teams that looked after him so patiently and kindly. It is never easy to lose a loved one,, but God wants us all back in the end. Many of his friends tried really hard to see him or call him and I know it must have been frustrating to not reach him, He was somewhat in disarray due to the nature of his many ailments, medication, and being anorexic and anaemic compounded this. If you were one of those who tried hard but did not reach him, take comfort in the fact that he could not manage easily but had a tremendous amount of immediate support from his friends, neighbours, loved ones and Agencies that were supporting him. He died yesterday at St Marys Hospital in Paddington. I am not sure if there are any plans now to commemorate him in any way and it is early days to ask questions about this. Here is a photo I took in April 2012. It captures his radiance and benevolence beautifully. God bless you my dear friend and may your soul rest in eternal peace. Our thoughts love and best wishes to you and your family ......RIP my dear friend
