Just as Canal 125 enters it's 13th year, we're sad to announce that it is no longer. The scene of literally thousands of parties, as well as a highly regarded local watering hole and quality restaurant, Canal 125 closes it's doors for the last time this weekend.

Please try and visit Gary's brand new pub The Village Gate in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom or our already established sister pub The Hollybush Inn in Priors Marston Village near the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire border. Both are lovely village pubs!

Sadly, the inexorable push by developers to find more profitable use for pubs is the reason for our closure. The site (formerly The Swan Tavern) has been a local landmark for 180 years, but will now be developed. There are simply too many people to acknowledge and wave farewell to... you know who you are. Thanks for the memories.

"It's official - it's good for you to live near a pub" - according to University of Oxford researchers.

The research by Oxford University found that regulars with a local pub nearby are "significantly" happier, have more friends, better life satisfaction, and actually drink in more moderation.

Cult label Some Bizzare launches monthly parties in London – first one is called ‘Some Bizarre’s...

A new monthly night from cult label Some Bizzare opens this Wednesday December 23rd: kicking off with The Christmas Session! Free Entry - 9pm-late.

Some Bizzare Records - the seminal record label that began in the 1980s under the direction of the self-proclaimed, infamous Stevo Pearce, signed some of the most instrumental, underground bands of the 1980s and brought to the fore The The, Depeche Mode, Marc Almond (official) & Soft Cell to name but a few.

This opening of a new monthly night features the extremely bizarre Japanese experimental music group Satanicpornocultshop and introduction of forthcoming album "Catholic Sunspot Apron". Featuring DJ's Stevo Pearce & special guests!

The 23rd of December sees the launch of a series of 12 monthly parties organised by the cult record label Some Bizzare at Canal 125 in London. The parties will take place every 3rd Wednesday of each month and each will be related to an animal sign according to a 12-year-cycle.

Tonight (18/11) sees Unstaged Comedy present new material from the best talent on the London comedy circuit.

"This week, we have Joz Norris treating us to a preview of his new show. Joz is one of the most exciting performers on the circuit - a genuine free spirit.

We also have wonderful support in the shape of Richard Todd, Andrea Hubert and Sunil Patel. I'm not sure what shape they make collectively, I guess we can find out on the night. If you do actually know, please post the shape below so we can re-create it.

Canal 125's traditional Guy Fawkes Night Party is back on Thursday (5th November!). It's free but we're asking for a pound or two donation for the British Hedgehog Preservation Society as our little spiky friends face particular danger this time of year!

Starting around 5pm, this year our kitchen is laying on a free buffet, and there'll be guest pies from the Piebury Corner The Pie Deli. There'll also be Fireworks by the Regent's Canal and top tunes all evening.

Children are welcome (*only* when accompanied by parents) - we kick off with possibly the coolest Kids Disco in the capital at 5.30pm, featuring DJ Jon Carter, "Sonic" Sean McLusky and Scottish Paul - then Head Chef Gary King gets cooking: Chilli, Bangers, Roasted Chestnuts... and of course Pies from the capital's top pie shop.

💫 Fireworks 💫 get underway at 7pm courtesy of the infamous "Twisted Firestarters" a.k.a. Scottish Paul and Chef Gary. They say 7pm sharp every year - and it almost never is! But arrive early to grab a spot on our Canalside terrace just in case. Uncle Al continues the tunes till late with Tim Taylor (Missile Records) at our weekend warm-up night Prekend!
