Hello everyone, hoping you all had a great Christmas. As you might know, we typically hold our LTM open mics on the first Wednesday of the month, but as suggested in the December open mic, we shall NOT be running an evening on the 1st of January.
We also have some news:
2025 marks the seventh year of Lasso The Moon: when we started it in February 2018, we really had no idea that it would last this long.
However, for a number of reasons, we have decided to call it a day. We shall not be running our monthly evenings during January and February 2025, and our final LTM evening will be on Wednesday 5th of March. It promises to be a fantastic night. We very much hope to see you there and we would love to get as many contributors as possible. With this in mind (and also as a celebration of the music we made in Lockdown on our YouTube channel) we would like to invite any of our performers who wish to be involved to drop us an email on [email protected], or to send us a message on the Lasso The Moon Facebook account. This will enable us to plan for the schedule for the evening.
It has been our extraordinary pleasure to have hosted such a variety of musicians over the years, and to have built up such a talented and warm-hearted community of performers and audience members. We have also been very lucky to have been able to use the fantastic Grove Tavern as our venue, and enormous thanks to Zeljko and Jimmy for their support for our evenings.
On a personal note, I would like to add that it has also been a joy to play with our brilliant house band/LTM team throughout these past seven years. Whilst I live round the corner, they have travelled across London to be there, and everyone has put in a lot of work. Particular thanks go to Jon, who has provided so much, musically, to our ensemble - and also who has doubled as FOH sound engineer at our evenings. Without him (and his PA!), Lasso The Moon would not have got this far.
We wish you a Happy New Year, and hope to see you on Wednesday March 5th for our final evening. Let's make it a true celebration.
