Cannondale Synapse Carbon 4 by Odili Donald Odita. Odili Donald Odita

Odili Donald Odita (b. 1966, Enugu, Nigeria) brings heightened awareness to color and space in paintings where abstraction is an optically, physically, and culturally-felt phenomenon. Though they are rooted in a broad range of historical lineages—Africanist approaches to pattern; modernist painting and design; and contemporary conceptual positions, to name a few—his compositions make immediate appeals to the senses in the here and now. Odita’s take on non-objective art is
su used with connectivity to the world around him, and arises from memories, philosophical refl ections, and meditations on the ways in which political forces shape relationships between perception and form. His primary stance is one of constant engagement, as evidenced by Odita’s interest in creating both discrete works and large-scale, site-specifi c installations.

The numbers don’t lie: pieces from these Maisons are routinely hammering at double their high estimates.

Retail is telling a similar story, with Richmond sales up 20% and Chanel Watches & Fine Jewelry up ~35%.

As the first generation of couturier haute joaillerie hits the block, the message is clear: this category is heating up fast.

Robsjohn-Gibbings’ use of Greco-Roman forms in modern furniture helped shape mid-20th-century American interiors, blending the refinement and restraint of Classical motifs with the optimism and innovation of 20th-century modern design.

Collecting art is an act of passion. Stewarding a collection requires something more.

During Aspen Art Week, Anita Heriot, President, Americas of TFG, had the pleasure of joining Grant Bowen of Peak Projects and Michael Nelson of Eagle Bay Family Office for a candid conversation on The Art of Stewardship.

Although we advise families across very different areas - art, wealth, and real estate - the connective tissue is remarkably similar: helping clients make informed decisions about assets that are valuable and deeply personal. Too often, the next generation inherits not only the art, but the burden of determining what it means, what it is worth, and what should happen to it - with little context or preparation.

The most thoughtful families begin those conversations early.

Inheritance transfers ownership. Stewardship transfers understanding.

Thank you to Michael and Grant for such an engaging conversation, and to everyone who joined us to explore how families can approach their wealth, properties, and collections with greater intention.
