She Walks in Beauty 🌿

Flowers have their own kind of movement — opening, reaching, unfurling and growing into one another.

In this painting I wanted to capture something of that wildness and beauty, using expressive marks and layers of colour rather than trying to describe the flowers exactly as they are.

I love the idea of bringing that feeling of the natural world into the home — something alive, abundant and slightly untamed.

My work explores our emotional and physical relationship with nature, and the way flowers can bring us back to that connection.

The Sun Rises Within 🌻

I love the simple act of bringing flowers into the home.

Gathering something from the natural world and placing it in a vase - bringing the colour, abundance and wildness of outside into the spaces where we live.

The Sun Rises Within grew from that feeling: sunflowers and flowers overflowing from a simple vase, becoming something larger, brighter and a little more unruly on the canvas.

For me, painting flowers is a way of exploring our emotional and physical relationship with the natural world - and the joy of making space for nature in our everyday lives.
