Swipe for some recent snaps from our weekly youth takeover at the Albany - . CAYA is for any young person in the local area who wants somewhere to hang out, study, get creative and make connections.

As well as games, table tennis and free, delicious home cooked food, every week we offer opportunities for 12-24 year olds to develop their ideas and learn new creative skills, from music, to dance, drama, creative writing, and more. 🏓🍕🎼👯‍♀️

Our final CAYA for the year is coming up next Tuesday 16 December, and then we’re back again from Tuesday 20 January.

Swipe for some snaps from the recent FESTIVAL OF MIGRATION at the Albany.

It was a delight to host Goldsmiths researchers and local organisations for a day of interactive experiences exploring migration past, present and future. Through food, performance, workshops, and storytelling, we celebrated the resilience, creativity, and contributions of London’s migrant communities.

This festival was curated in collaboration with the Community Curators and featured researchers from Goldsmiths’ new Migrant Futures Institute alongside a brilliant range of cultural and community partners.

Cassie is a new face around the Albany, stepping into the team as Creative Producer only a few months ago. Outside of her work here, she also runs which you may recognise from our recently programmed BLACK BURLESQUE FESTIVAL. We’re very lucky to have Cassie on our team.

Enjoy these snaps from our partnership with , MEET ME, running since 2013.

These weekly sessions bring formerly lonely or isolated older people together to work with artists to learn or rediscover creative skills, make friends and have agency over their social lives.

Members are just as likely to be suspended on silks in a circus workshop as they are to be enjoying a jazz performance, mask making, dancing, drumming, writing poetry or singing in the weekly choir (shown here). 🎶🎤

QUEERMAS AT DEPTFORD LOUNGE
Deptford Lounge is an award-winning community centre used by many different local groups. In December it hosts Q***rmas, a festive market by the London Q***r Mart collective featuring LGBTQ+ makers and businesses. Shoppers can enjoy tarot readings, live entertainment and drinks while they shop for ceramics, art prints, sculpture and jewellery. The market sells everything from vegan leather collars, harnesses and handcuff sets (True Colour Collars), and pearl earrings (Ray Makes Things) to soy candles (Uhuru Candles). And don’t forget to enter the charity tombola in aid of the Q***r Youth Art Collective charity while you’re there.”

Today in our series, freelance technician spotted an industrial supply of hand sanitiser. Reckon there’s enough here to assist all of Deptford from getting the winter flu. 😷

Francis is now back in the theatre supporting the tech team with the get-in for our next show - SNOW QUEEN: A WOODLAND ADVENTURE. It’s thanks to our tech team that the theatre is looking very nearly ready for some audiences!! ☃️👑
