Today we celebrate 40 years of The Real Ghostbusters, so I thought I'd share my number one item from my record breaking collection. And it may surprise you.

It is this Kenner Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Unlike the rest of my stuff which was bought in adulthood, this is the actual one I got and played with as a kid. I remember the hunt for him in all the shops like Woolworths and Toys R Us and the excitement of finally finding him. My Nan loved him, she said he always looked like he was reaching out for a hug.

I have plenty of items so much rarer and worth a hundred times as much as this. But nothing can beat sentimental value. And without this toy, perhaps Ghostbusters wouldn't have stuck with me all these years. And Ghostbusters has been very good to me, from all the amazing things I've done, to more importantly all the amazing friends I have gained.

Happy 40th Anniversary to The Real Ghostbusters and all the amazing fans around the world. Have a great day!

Hard to believe it has been 25 years. I remember exactly where I was when I first heard something had happened in America. I was at Lakeside Shopping Centre here in Essex. An announcement came out that said something along the lines of "for those wishing to pray for the victims in New York, the chapel is open". Not a lot to go on and back then we didn't have phones that would connect to the Internet like we do now. Obviously something bad had happened but I wasnt expecting what I saw when I turned on the TV later when I got home. It's been said a million times but the world changed that day.

9/11 showed the absolute worst in humanity. I'm not a religious guy but I hope hell is real for those terrorist scum bags.

But I think 9/11 also showed the absolute best in humanity too. The bravery of the emergency services can not be overstated. I couldn't even begin to imagine what it must have been like approaching the Twin Towers that morning. Then the way New Yorkers rallied together in the days that followed. It truly is amazing.

Weirdly I don't think it ever truly sunk in for me until I visited the site in 2019. Seeing all this names of the victims around the reflecting pools was an emotional experience. Especially when I saw a flower on one of the names which I learned was done on their birthdays.

That's not to say I wasn't bothered by it before then. I'm not even sure how to explain the feeling. It's like it went from being this news story for half way around the world to suddenly becoming very real. Does that even make sense. I'm not sure.

R.I.P to the 2977 victims on that horrible day 25 years ago, and also to those who have since died from the diseases related to being there, which is estimated to be around 10,000.

Thank you to those who gave their lives so help save others. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
