🚨🩰 We are delighted to welcome Wei Wang, Principal Dancer with San Francisco Ballet to Danceworks for an exclusive Classical Ballet Masterclass NEXT WEEK 😍. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to bring Wei to our studio during his visit to London, giving our students the rare chance to learn from one of today’s leading international ballet artists. ✨🚨

Born in China, Wei began his training at the Beijing Dance Academy before continuing his studies at the San Francisco Ballet School. He joined San Francisco Ballet in 2013 and was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2018. Renowned for his exceptional technical brilliance, athleticism and expressive artistry, Wei has performed leading roles in works by choreographers including Helgi Tomasson, George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Christopher Wheeldon, Wayne McGregor and Aszure Barton. Alongside his work with San Francisco Ballet, he has appeared internationally at prestigious venues including the Royal Opera House, New York City Center’s Fall for Dance Festival and the Hollywood Bowl.

Following the masterclass, Wei will perform with San Francisco Ballet in Aszure Barton’s acclaimed Mere Mortals at Sadler’s Wells from 9–12 September 2026

There’s one thing about me you should know.

I’m going to teach you to enjoy yourself at all times.
It’s important to me that you enjoy dance and get to feel open, light and expressive.

It’s important to me that you can hold your own when a song comes on, cheeky two step, little bounce.

And it’s important to me that you feel comfortable dancing around others.

So I can’t tell you how happy a clip like this makes me, this isn’t acting, this is genuine… The ladies really did a fantastic job of bringing the energy we have in class into the stage!

WORKSHOP ALERT 😍✨ Step into the world of one of musical theatre’s most iconic productions as Les Misérables celebrates its 40th anniversary in the West End this year. Join current cast member Danny Whelan for an immersive workshop where you’ll learn songs and choreography from the show, explore characterisation and acting through song. There will also be an opportunity for a Q&A session at the end.

Danny has spent the last decade working across the industry as a performer, director, teacher and agent, building a successful career in both the UK and internationally. He is currently appearing in the 40th Anniversary Cast of Les Misérables in London’s West End.
