Tuned In London

Tuned In London Bringing top quality world and folk music performances to Rotherhithe and further afield.

After three years setting up and running the music programme at the Brunel Museum, Rotherhithe, London, the regular series of World and Folk music concerts has evolved to become Tuned In London. It is put together and run by Eleanor Thorn and most concerts are currently held at the beautifully and entirely unique hidden gem that is Sands Films, Rotherhithe.

Here we have more atmospheric images from our last gig of the season, featuring Lara Eidi and her special guest Alice Mary Jelaska, with sincere thanks to photographer Robert Crowley.

Both talented singer songwriters and instrumentalists, the two combined their piano, guitar, harmonium and clarinet playing beautifully, performing solo and duo, weaving together their music, both original and traditional songs, referencing their mixed heritages and families. So much thought and care had gone into the preparation of their programme, this their first combined concert. Lara's love of Ireland, Palestine, Beirut and Greece shaped the evening, and we were treated to a rendition of one of the world's oldest songs, from the Seikilos Epitaph dating back to Ancient Greece's 2nd Century, among a rich repertoire so superbly delivered. Croatian song also made it into the programme, thanks to Alice Mary, a first for us!

What a lovely crowd we had that turned out on what was another warm summer night - so many new faces - always a joy.

Thank you to Bob and Kevin who manned the bar, and to Paul on sound. Thanks to St Mary the Virgin with All Saints Rotherhithe for opening their doors to us once again.

This summer we invite you all to join us in the West Country, on an organic farm near Bath for the Tangled Blues Festival 2026, 7th-9th August. The programme is brimming with brilliant musicians and the place is something of a rural idyll.
