From his second album Americana (April 2025), Eddie Gripper presents music inspired by an 8,000 km hitchhiking journey from Alaska to California – a hopeful yet clear-eyed portrait of American life, live from The Hampstead Jazz Club stage.

Performing music from his second album ‘Americana‘ (released April 2025), Eddie Gripper tells the story of an 8,000 km hitchhiking journey from Alaska to California, completed in under two months during the summer of 2022. The music captures the vast landscapes and unforgettable moments along the way – from sleeping in the Alaskan wilderness to cycling down Santa Monica Pier – offering a vivid, hopeful, yet unflinching reflection on American life.

Having “already garnered comparisons with the greats” (Jazzwise), after the release of his debut album ‘Home’, pianist Eddie Gripper has rapidly established himself as a young contender on the national jazz circuit.

FRI 3 JULY - Harry Diplock Electric Trio

A reimagining of the jazz guitar trio, Harry Diplock brings his own take on melodic virtuosity to the world of jazz live from The Hampstead Jazz Club. Heavily inspired by masters of the French, Brazilian and American jazz scene, the trio has a unique sound that is distinctly original.

Featuring original compositions and an alternative line up of drums, double bass and electric guitar, this special performance gives the trio a chance to explore. Come for an evening of musical surprises!

Having released the critically acclaimed album “Trio & Friends” in 2023, the trio played across 8 countries for a 28 date tour in 2025 and are poised to release their new album “Swifts” in 2026.

Rising star saxophonist Sam Glaser brings his all-star quintet to the HJC for his debut performance at the club. Sam is renowned for his warm and distinctive alto sound, lyrical improvising, and virtuosic playing. Pete Horsfall is an award winning jazz trumpet player and vocalist, based in the UK. His singular musical vision has seen him featured regularly as a guest on Jazz FM, TSF Paris, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 3.

Pete’s unique and innovative interpretation of the early jazz styles of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s have produced critically acclaimed records. He has also recorded and performed with acts including De La Soul, Kurt Elling, Jamie Cullum, Kansas Smittys, Giacomo Smith, Flight Call, DJ Premier and Friendly Fires among many others.

In this intimate performance for voice and acoustic guitar, Mario revisits the essence of Brazil through the great Radio Era of the 1930s and 40s, when Ary Barroso’s grand, sweeping melodies helped define a modern Brazilian identity, and Dorival Caymmi’s understated songs brought the landscapes, rhythms, and spirituality of Bahia into the national imagination. Their music laid the foundations of what would become the classic Brazilian songbook.

THURS 4 JUNE — Conrad Miller Trio — Night Dreamer

The New Conrad Miller Trio bring their fourth studio album, Night Dreamer, to The Hampstead Jazz Club for an intimate, romantic set where every track tugs at the heart. Led by pianist-composer Coen Molenaar, the group is celebrated for melodic storytelling, lush harmonies and a dynamic rhythmic rapport. With Mark Eshuis on drums and David de Marez Oyens on double bass, they’ve crafted a distinctive sound that fuses jazz tradition with modern expression.

The music of The New Conrad Miller Trio is deeply inspired by legendary pianists such as Michel Petrucciani, Herbie Hancock, Monty Alexander, George Duke, and McCoy Tyner. Their influence can be heard in the trio’s expressive piano lines, dynamic improvisations, and strong sense of groove.
