We are the traditional Maharashtrian Dhol Tasha Pathak in UK. We started in 2012 and since then we are performing in number of events around London and UK.

Our Story

In 2012, a group of business and technology professionals got together for the love of music and performed in front of thousands of spectators in Trafalgar Square. This was a Mayor of London’s Diwali festival.

Inspired by the response, a group was borne in Maharashtra Mandal London (MML) – the oldest Maharashtra Community in UK. The group was christened later as MML-Dhol Beats of UK but was formed into a close tied team at that moment.

The individuals of this team are passionate music enthusiasts of Indian origin, who really want to promote the cultural unity.

Dhol Tasha used to be originally played after winning a war. No wars to be won now however symbolisation of celebrations is always welcome.

Dhol-Tasha are best played in a group and synchronisation is the key ingredient for music creation. This is also why a cohesive group formation is an automatic result bringing people closer together

Dhol Tasha playing portrays high energy and Entertainment, not only to listen to but also is a visualtreat.

MML-Dhol Beats of UK ,understands and embraces Indian and Hindu values and culture. Playing such a folk form of music, we have been attempting to proliferate the same to the younger generation. Being as entertaining as it is, communal integrity across cultures and geographies seems to be developing. DholBeats of UK has already performed on many events of other communities by invitations and sometimes even for other asian nation communities. This is a great example of social integration.

Though a lesser known musical form in the UK , its popularity is fast catching up due to the efforts of Dhol Beats of UK and dedication. It has opened another window for the British and other nationalities to get a glimpse into and further appreciate the rich Indian Sanskriti.

The group’s main objective is to promote culture and value through thus unique and entertaining channel.

Its all about spreading love for Music and Dance while having great fun.
