Enjoy sublime arias from our ‘Handel’s Queens’ album written for Handel’s singers Faustina and Cuzzoni, originally performed amidst bustling audience factions in eighteenth-century London during a period when two opera companies were in fierce competition.

Handel was forbidden from marrying Elizabeth Legh as she was from a noble family from Adlington Hall, whilst Handel, at the time, was seen as a mere musician. Elizabeth Legh was an amateur harpsichordist and devout follower and collector of Handel’s music.

We were delighted to perform and video the modern day premiere of recently discovered Handel arias for Elizabeth Legh on baroque instruments reflecting Handel and Legh’s close relationship.

With thanks to mezzo- soprano Anna Huntley, Camilla Morse-Glover - Baroque Cello/Viola Da Gamba Bridget Cunningham and Andrew Jones. With thanks to The Handel Institute for inviting us to play for the 2025 conference which was truly inspiring and enlightening.
