Globe Theatre The Globe Theatre The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare. In 1614 the Globe Theatre was rebuilt.

It was built in 1599 by Shakespeare's playing company, the Lord Chamberlain's Men, and was destroyed by fire on 29 June 1613. In 1642, under the force of the Puritans, the English Parliament issued an ordinance suppressing all stage plays in the theatres and in 1644 the Globe Theatre was demolished by the Puritans. A reproduction of the theatre was built in1997 and still stands today.
