After 23 years of loyal service, our furnace body has finally retired. We look forward to a greener future 🌱 with our new furnace setup that is 15% more energy efficient ⚡️. This upgrade plays a key role in our continued efforts to reduce the environmental impact of casting bronze. 🍃 ♻️ 🌎

For those unable to attend, Ab's Funeral Service will be live streamed.

Ab’s Funeral will take place on Friday 22nd August 2025.

If you would like to attend Ab’s funeral, please RSVP to [email protected] so the family can cater for the correct number of people.

The service will be held at 1pm at:

St Andrews Church
30 Coldred Rd
Shepherdswell
Dover
CT15 7LF

Followed by the wake which will take place at the following venue:

Cave Hotel and Golf Resort
Brickfield Ln
Boughton-under-Blean
Faversham
ME13 9AJ

Ab’s burial will be held at the Saint Pancras Church, Coldred.
This interment will be a private family ceremony.
They will then join everyone else at the wake.

TRAVEL

A coach will depart AB Fine Art Foundry from London, E14 at 10am prompt.
It will also shuttle people from the church to the wake.
The coach will leave the wake at approximately 5:30pm and return back to the AB Fine Art Foundry.

We do have a limited number of extra seats available on our coach.

DONATIONS

Although Ab was cared for entirely at home, the support by phone and visits from the Pilgrims hospice staff were of great comfort to Deb especially.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Henry ‘Ab’ Abercrombie, the founder and spirit of AB Fine Art Foundry.

A true original, Ab together with Deb, built the foundry from the ground up in the heart of the East End. His energy, humour, character and eccentricity helped bond our group into the team we are today. We will miss him enormously, but his legacy lives on.

Ab was a legend.
There was only one Henry ‘Ab’ Abercrombie.

Very sad news for AB Fine Art to hear about the death of Norman Ackroyd. He was a close friend of Henry Abercrombie (Ab) from the age of 23. A good friend to everyone at the foundry, he will be missed greatly.

*Experienced Mould Maker + Wax Worker*

We are looking for a highly skilled mould maker and wax worker with a minimum of 5 years experience.
A skilled mould maker and wax worker is expected to demonstrate a good eye for detail and understanding of methods and materials.

Full time, PAYE only.

*Experienced Metal Worker* ⚒

We are looking for a highly skilled metal worker with a minimum of 5 years experience.
A skilled metal worker is expected to demonstrate the practical ability to read the shape and form of artwork they will be working on.

Minimum 4 days a week, PAYE only.

Working within either role you would be expected to work independently and within a team on the production of bronze sculptures.
Successful candidates will need to be punctual, be self-motivated and have very good awareness of health and safety within a workshop.

Uniform and tools provided.

Salary is negotiable and will be discussed based on ability.

We are looking for a highly skilled metal worker with a minimum of 5 years experience.

We had a big (or little) change to our usual tour group yesterday... a visit from a group of Year 4’s from North Beckton Primary School who are learning about moulding and casting.

They were all very enthusiastic, so inquisitive and asked great questions! ✨
